Read the OP again.

"Not a newcomer, not a player that's been top 5 or 6 before."

Del Potro has been ranked as high as 4, if you forgot.

It's a good thing I said top 5 or 6 then huh?

But I see your point.

Stepanek, since his style of play is very clean and flat.

Grigor, Gulbis, Dolgopolov, maybe Llodra, or Cilic!

Devon Britton (just so he can say, he didn't waste his college career)

Monfils. He's so entertaining to watch as it is, and he totally has the potential to be top 5 with his crazy athleticism. If he suddenly upped his level of play it'd be spectacular to watch.

Verdasco, Andreev, Almagro. I have a thing for heavy hitters and extreme grips.

+1

Another Stepanek fan here, although he's growing old so don't know if he counts in this thread. I don't much like extreme grip players.

Love his antics, too.

From the younger players, I'd like to see Dolgo, Tomic, Cilic ...

Yes I do - and I also understand how many rounds a seeded player needs to win in a 96 man draw.

The OP asked which non newcomer player who had never before made 5 or 6 would we like to see get there - he chose Gasquet. All I'm doing is pointing out that it might not be that big a deal for a guy to be ranked 6 when he had previously been ranked 7.

Feliciano Lopez. Big lefty serve, great 1hb, big fh, natural S&V...moves well, good footwork. Cant understand why he hasnt done better.
