Who Hear Likes the Pacific X Force?

I just received the demo and hit with it some and so far like it a lot. Too soon to really tell but playing a set tomorrow. It feels great and enough power but not too much. Reminds me of my Wilson nBlade 98

Hi Wilson 101. How are you liking the X Force?

I played with this racquet while on holiday in Germany last year (very hard to find in the uk). I was up for demoing at the time, but hesitated about buying. Kind of been regretting not buying ever since.

I went for a Dunlop 4D 300, but the X Force seemed to pocket the ball much more sweetly. The feel on all groundstrokes was excellent, great spin and control, though it didn't seem to offer much pop on the serve.

The guy who leant me the racquet put some lead tape on the inside of the forks after watching me hit. Perhaps without this it would have had too much flex. I'd be interested to hear if you have tried any modifications yourself.

It's a shame, but it's not a frame that seems to get a lot of attention/reviews.

Interesting you mention the nBlade. That was a racquet I also considered buying a few years back - great for a one handed backhand, but a bit too even balanced overall.

I switched to the X Force Pro last year and haven't looked back since. Great frame for me, as I was looking for something sub-12oz, but still had control and enough stability to handle hard serves & heavy topspin (I'm a 4.5, but routinely hit against 5.0 college players).

It took a month or so to adjust from a 20mm straight beam (C10 Pro) to a tapered frame, but other than that, absolutely no complaints.

I had hit with the M Pro No 1 for a month prior to buying the X Force Pro, and while a tad stiffer than its predecessor, Pacific still managed to retain the Fischer feel (my understanding is the X Force Pro is essentially the Black Granite Pro No 1 that never made it to the states). This is a great all-around frame that allows you to swing through the ball with confidence.

Now, if Pacific can just find a way to market these things...

This frame has grabbed my curiosity of late. How does it compare IYO to the swirly Pure Control + that I recall you used to play and I'm familiar with?

I've actually been playing around with the old silver/red Fischer Pro No 1 (same frame as the VT Pro 9

recently and was told it's pretty similarish to that. Anyhow, I'm particularly interested in baseline performance, as I think I'm finding I still fare better from the b-line with my Babs than the Pro No 1. That aside though, the Fischer bosses it in every department (impact feel, solidness, quality buld, accuracy, etc).

It's been a while since the Pure Control Swirly +, but I still remember the rock-solid shots I got from that thing. In particular, my running cross-court forehand. That was thing of beauty w/ the Swirly. If you look up 'plow through' in the dictionary, you'd see this photo:

The X Force Pro does not have the punch of the Swirly. It is truly a control-oriented frame. However, one of the complaints from old Pro No. 1 users is possibly one of the things I like most about it: It's "stiffness".

Obviously, it's all relative, and I can tell a difference between the M Pro No. 1 and the X Force Pro, but again, for me it is a positive. The frame still has the Fischer feel, it's just a bit muted than it's predecessor. The power is there if you swing through it, but it is real, real stable.

Not to get too technical, but while I'm mostly a singles player, one thing I rely on in doubles is return of serve. My volleys are decent, as is my serve, but I'm not going to blow you away with either. However, my service return, in particular, the 2HBH, is where I do my damage. The first thing I noticed when demoing this was how accurate I was with my return. Some of the guys I play against bomb the serve in at 120+, and right away I was able to drive it back at them, up the middle, cross-court, flat or with spin (I usually return from the ad side). High kick serves? No problem handling the shots above the shoulders. Just drive through & the shot is at their feet.

All in all, a great frame for 4.0+ players.

BTW, I string mine w/ Pacific Classic 17g mains @ 58, MSV Co Focus 1.23 crosses @ 56.

Oh, and as far as quality, it is still on par w/ Fischer. All my frames were 'No Tolerance', and they came in right on the money (weighed w/ a postal scale). The only complaint would be the grommets, as I did have one go on me early, but that was the same w/ my M Comp 95s.

I demoed the X Force Pro, and I was impressed. It has great control and feel, it's comfortable, and it has enough pop that I don't feel like I have to exert extra effort like I did with the Volkyl Organix 10. The tapered beam is deceiving because it plays more like a classic players racquet. I ended up getting the extended length PK Ki 5x because I can serve better with it, but the X Force Pro was high on my list. I would be very interested if they came out with an extended length version.

I have been playing almost a year with the x force (295 gr customized), and I'm very surprised so few people support this stick. I have played with most of the comparable racquets in the market (pro open, radical, pure drive, aero pro, t fight 295, 6.1 team, etc) and no one gathers all the features such as maneuverability, stability, spin, power and control, this one does. Great stick in the light side, very versatile for the all court game, than can be modified easily. Just one warning: string sensitive, I recommend low tensions (50 lbs). Try and enjoy!!

I liked the X Force. Seemed comfortable and felt classic. I didn't buy one, I have to demo again before I can tell if I like it.
