That was me, and that was what took off the paint. It is a small bit, but once a small bit flakes it slowly starts flaking more and more.

LOL u guys! I found that the easy way of removing lead tape without any harm is to put one drop of lighter fluid on the edge of the lead tape. It doesn't take much to peel it off then.

Idk why it did that, of all my old racquet i had in the past and I used the electrical tape nothing ever happened, the only reason I suggested it was because the lead tape sticky side will take of paint and leave residue at time. Idk why it did that with the PD.

Sounds a good idea. We have grass at our place so let me know if you fancy a hit sometime. Lead worked well as described in my edited post above. Added to power on serve but didn't unduly affect mobility which is an issue for me in doubles.

I strung my pure drive with mantis power synthetic and comfort synethetic crosses 58/54lbs. Iv had issues using poly in pure drive.

I wonder if anyone has tried this combo as I found it comfy, controlled and also powerful enough. Full synthetic combo and had a lot of control as well as power on drives

sounds like the lead tape experiment went well!!!!
i found it to be a pleasure in doubles, the return of serve was excellent as well as half volleys and net play.
its really all i play now as my knee,s/pattela tendons give me grief,
i do play a few singles but only club friendly,s.

thanks for the offer,we have a few grass courts at our club but i like the hard court,s as the bounce is easier to read, ive only been playing a year but get tuition once a week and dont worry im not a pusher lol

smirker the offer is returned and if you fancy a change from grass let me no.

cheers garry

I see you have a leather grip on there, was thinking I might try that myself. Have leather on my Dunlops and it definitely enhances them. Let me know if you are ever up this way, we have hard courts too.

A more solid feel in the hand as the leather molds well to the bevels. I then add with one Tournagrip. Due to the extra weight of a leather grip it makes the racquet a bit more head light (or at least neutralises the lead I add to the head). Also subjective, I just like the feel. More feed back than from a synthetic grip imo. The only caveat is that you do feel more vibration, especially from a stiff racquet.

its all personal preference. Personally I prefer a comfy synthetic grip to a hard, harsh leather grip.

Top man and will defo come and have a knock about

Love my leather grip, and to be honest it's the best I've found for sweaty hands as I do suffer from that.
I tried loads of different synthetic over grips which were supposed to be for sweaty hands and they didn't work.
Sticking with the leather grip and it will have to be falling off before I replace it with another.

Cool, just send me a message and we'll hit the courts! Re the overgrip sweaty problem the only one I have found that does not get slippery is Tournagrip. Cheap at Sports Direct too, which reminds me; must pick up some of the Babolat dampeners they do. My red ones are just not cutting it in the PD.

good man

gonna look on direct sports now....

and believe it or not,on my old head lm8 i had to put 4 overwraps (grip 5) to get the proper fit!!!!!

luckily the PD,s grip size comes up big and i havent had to add any overgrips,so only added the leather grip and its top notch..

how the hell is your dampener cutting into your PD ?????

ive got the old babolat one in yellow/black and looks cool lol
