ChicagoJack!!!!

I want to thank you so much for your last post, I was so tempted to buy the 18 x 20 and try it out for myself but now I know I don't have to.

Totally agree about the IGPMP, it's smooth as well, but needs about 3 grams at 12. Just abit unstable high in the hoop. You know I gave up on my Head pt57a's for this stick, that's all I have to say.

You always give a great post reply, I am so glad we are on the Team!

On another note, I think the P1's are geared towards guys who have fully developed strokes. I always thought it swings pretty quick through the hitting zone. But one of the lower level players who was watching me crushing serves and forehands ask to have a go with my sticks. So I was feeding him some balls, he loves everything about it. I told him to use it in his next match. He did. I was watching very closely. Let's just say he struggled more than i thought. He was slow on everything except his serve. BTW, he uses a Prince Exo3 red.

After the match, his arms were hurting abit, cause he was arming the ball so much. So even though the P1 is a god stick, it's not for everyone.

Try some Tour Bite 17. I tested some out this past weekend and loved it. Also tried the TB 18 and found it to be underpowered.

Talking New Member!

I am proud to be a new member.

I took a leap of faith and ordered these without trying (due to location, not laziness). Best decision I have made in a while. I am very happy with stick, I am looking forward to a long relationship with my P1 16x19.

The next decision is whether I should add three more racquets to my current three.

Cheers,
FALC

hey pro one users,

i'm hoping you can help me with something. have any of you received a pro one with a flex rating of 64 as listed in the tw specs? all the ones i have found online tend to be 66 or 68. i know tw takes an average for their specs but this would mean that there are several racquets at or below a 64 flex rating, yet i have not found a single one.

thanks in advance.

Many Thanks Xonemains, well.......What I can say...Im shock with the P1....I had a lot of racquet last years.....all brands...Babolat, head, wilson, yonex, Volkl , Dunlop....but never felt the magic like the p1...can do it everything right...for sure like you mentioned....is not for everyone...you need hit hard with a long swing...
Right now , the P1 is my official racquet...also Im so happy, very happy with my tennis..

Thanks Jack for great review.
Have you played with x-dual pro by any chance ?
I'm wondering if they are different from pro one 18x20...

According to Donnay's own data sheet specs, the 18x20 is softer at 62 ra, with 16x19 at 64. But I've given up paying attention to either of the two sources (TW or Donnay) for flex info, because the actual frames are all over the place. I'm not ragging on Donnay. I wish the other brands had the cohones to indicate the specs for every frame that rolls off the line. It's a good news, bad news kind of a thing. Donnay's own data sheets for the X-99 Blue show a flex of 59 Ra. Mine is 67, and every X-99 Blue I've looked at on on Flea Bay is 65-68. The 18x20 P1 I demoed had a flex of 67.

The good news is the stickers. The good news is that I can call TW, or call Donnay directly, and ask them to gather me up 6 matching P1s, and ask for what ever flex I want. That is in fact, what I will be doing in the next week or two. I've traded emails a few times and have it pretty much lined up. I'm pushing all my chips in pretty soon.

With regards to the 18x20, not my cup of tea. It's got the same super sweet impact feel, the same deadly weaponry feel, as the 16x19 but, jeezey creesy it hits a flat ball. I had a whole arm full of demo frames that same day. The IG Racical and Radical Pro, the IG Prestige, and Prestige Pro, a Pure Storm Ltd. GT, and a few Wilsons.

If I was dead set on 18x20 I would much prefer the IG Prestige MP. I've played with lots of Prestiges over the years, and that one is a real gem. Found a groove with it right away. Easy spin, super control. It was the last demo standing for quite a while. I traded back and forth with that and my P1 for quite a bit. In the end, I felt like my P1 is more spin friendly, has oodles more put away power, comparable control, and despite the Prestige being a very sweet hit, there just is no better feeling racquet to me.

Feel is of course a very personal thing. It feels to me very damp, muted in terms of vibration but not dead at all, feels very responsive. I've been hitting tennis balls since I was a eight years old, and never played a frame that feels as sweet as this, straight out of the box... no mods, no lead, no silicone in the pallet. I've got a layer and a half of grip and one overgrip on it, gets the balance and weight to my personal golden zone. I'm set. I found it. I'm happy. Putting all my chips in. Just gotta sell some old racquets to help take the sting out of buying six more.

Why not, theres no other thread for donnay users so this must be it

what does the Dark red 94 play like? is it similar to the IG Mid?

the listed flex of 64 for tw is for a strung racquet. the raw flex is higher, something like 66,67 or even maybe 68. thats why you cannot find any sticks that are at 64 raw, then the flex wll be lower like 62 or something.

dont worry about this too much, the P1 plays very comfortable at any flex rating

I have three and they are all between 66-68.

thanks eightmarky. it seems that is the typical unstrung flex for this racquet.

can anyone recommend a multi that they like for this stick? i'm probably going to do a full bed and am curious what others have found to work well with this frame.

thanks!

if you going to go full bed of multis, lowest i would go is 56 lbs.

57 -60 lbs sounds good for this stick. unless you got arm problems, then the lower tension is better. it will become a bazooka though

Hey guys, I'm thinking about trying the P1, since I traditionally preferred extended racquets, like ChicagoJack, but do you guys think this is too much stick for a weak 3.5 weekend warrior?

Hey buddy, it might feel slow in the beginning but if you not playing people way above your level, you should be right. As soon as you play against the bigger hitters, you might find its not as quick.

But in saying that, the guys that you play against now will say "man, how do you hit that hard!!" and your serves will be bigger as well, goodluck, oh and you will never have any arm problems.

how about the Donnay Formula? have you tried that? thats seems a better fit.

Not yet. I've come to appreciate a thin beam, I'm afraid the Formula 100 would seem to thick.

Although, I guess there's no harm in demoing one.
