I found this beauty thrown in the trash at my local tennis court!!!
It is in excellent shape with only a broken main string. Looks like it has only been strung once from the condition of the grommets. If any of you have any history with this frame let me know your thoughts and opinions. I plan on stringing it this weekend and taking it out for a hit!!! (note pic is not the actual racquet I found just pulled from internet)

the prince pro was a very popular racquet back in the day. be careful restringing it as aluminum frames warped very easily during stringing. please be sure to share your experience!

I bought one for my wife back in the day. They can come "out of round" when stringing. The key is to "stretch" them a little bit, but not too much as it can leave the throat piece and the grommets misaligned. They were designed to be strung as high as 80# though.

...I remember Pam Shriver, with the Prince Pro...
and the not so known - maybe - Peter Doohan defeated Boris Becker at Wimbledon in 1987, using the 90 version, (IIRC) ![]() |

I think it might have been THE biggest-selling racket in the world back when I was using it, 1981-1983. It is probably the only racket I've ever picked up that improved my game by itself. (Of course, I'd switched to it from a standard-sized racket.)
It got to be such a companion that when I saved up all my summer job money to buy an actual graphite racket and took that expensive thing out on the court, I went running immediately back to my PP's. Enjoy it, OP.

Hugely popular frame after it came out in the early 80s......stiffer version of the original green throat Prince. Played at just about every level from hacks all the way to top pros. I used it on court when giving lessons and would sell out our stock on a regular basis.
All the Prince 110 frame were to be strung at 70lbs+ and with nylon...what were where told by the Prince Techs is that Nylon (Syn gut) strung that high had the same playability as gut and there was no need to use gut. I know I routinely strung them at 75lbs+ every day a very very solid stick, great spin and was a monster on serve and at the net. |

She was still using the green 'Original' Prince when she tried to jam it into the court while losing to Laura Dupont at Shipyard back in the fall after her first US Open run('78?). She was NOT a happy camper! I'm not sure what the result of the match was...I couldn't watch that display.(She was only 16/17 at the time and feeling some serious pressure after a US Open final, I'm sure)

Remember Jay Berger? He reached #7 in the world in 1990, using the Prince Pro 110. When he heard Prince was discontinuing that frame, I remember he went to every big-box store in south Florida to buy em up, the places that usually carried em.
I loved the Prince Pro 90, but being all aluminum, it wrecked my arm. So I gladly settled on the POG 90 back then. |

I got to play a couple sets against Brad Gilbert in the spring of 1990, back when he was doing pretty well in the rankings. I was a nobody then, and a nobody today, but seeing how he hit the ball back to me, my brain automatically thought, "There's no way I can lose against that!" However, what he lacked in beauty was made up for with a surplus of persistence. I think I got three games off him in each set.
