A record 20 masters shields so far. Only age 25, and at the peak of clay dominance. Still a contender at Miami and Indian Wells too.

Nadal is more near 26 than 25. Hopefully he's banned from tennis soon and won't win any more.

2011 was the first year he's made BOTH the Indian Wells and Miami finals in the same year. And he was a 3rd set tie-breaker away from winning Miami (and that is an event he's never won). So he's extremely close to winning those events.

I don't know what is funnier, *********s refusing to give an esimate how many Majors he will probably win by the end of his career, or them getting overexcited with numbers.
Ontopic. Probably around 26-28

And it doesn't mean he'll be any closer to winning it the next time either. |

Masters Shields? Do players earn these through masters titles and use them to defend themselves from critics like us?

100+ option is missing. Just not fair to underestimate the Nadal.

I don't care about the actual number but I hope he will keep the lead.

This thread is about Masters, not Slam count.
I'd say 35 is doable for Nadal. If Noel falters, then that figure could increase exponentially.

He'll probably win a World Tour Finals or 2, because in 2010 he was only one set from beating Federer in the final. He can definitely play at that level again. Nadal beat Djokovic in the 2010 World Tour Finals. It would have been interesting if he had won the 3rd set vs Tsonga at 2011 World Tour Finals, but I just don't think his heart was in it, because Davis Cup Final was the week after and on clay. Nadal believes that he needs to train a lot on the surface he's switching to, so the World Tour Finals would have been a major inconvenience for the patriotic Nadal.

If Djoker continues his prowess on clay, then Federer will end up with more Master's than Nadal. Because off clay, Nadal is pretty impotent at Master's events.
