Hey, sorry for the late reply.

Well, the Pan American was off a highway (i think that's what you call it in America!), it was fine really but not as special as staying in Manhattan. I knew it was going to be pretty basic and it worked out fine for us really.

Either way, getting to a grand slam is just such a great experience that really that's all that matters

I am planning to take my wife and kid to NYC to see a few days of action. Staying in Manhattan is super pricey??

I need to start checking around.

I'm planning on just getting day passes for us. It would be nice to be able to move around and see different matches.

hey guys - i'm looking at getting tickets for this years open as well but as a college student, the upper promenade is all that i can afford. are those seats really that bad? i've seen people complain about them on here but most of the comments on yelp actually say the view was decent.

also - i'm sure there are always ticket brokers outside the park trying to scalp tickets. anybody ever buy from these guys? are their prices reasonable? thanks

Yes, they are really bad. Get the Ground Pass instead and buy them in advance via TicketMaster. Scalper will certainly be more expensice (it's their jobs ).
