Lightbulb Plus ça change...

I'm always amazed when I watch guys like Nadal and Djokovich. And then I'm even more amazed when I watch guys like Connors and McEnroe and could see them competing with the top pros of today.....

Thanks for posting that. That's an amazingly high level of tennis from Connors playing 10 years after he nearly won the Grand Slam in 1974.

Connors was playing at such a high level for such a long period and for a significant amount of that with such a ridiculous racquet (T2000) that at this point he's my vote for GOAT. A very close 2nd would be Sampras and then Federer, depending on what he does from here on out. If Fed can remain in the top 10 for the next few years he would surpass Sampras and perhaps even Connors, but we'll see.

Well, if you're going to go there, then I have to go with Rosewall. He was top 5 in the world for 22 years, top 3 for most of that time, top 2 and 1 for the rest of it, and won a total of 23 amateur, pro and open majors. And, his 4 open majors were won after the age of 33.

Never heard of Ken Rosewall? You're joking, I'm sure.
