Federer holds the record for most hc titles. With 9 slams, 6 WTFs I don't think it's even an argument as to who's the king of hc. The distant second place is up for debate. I would say

2. Sampras
3. Agassi
4. Lendl
5. Connors
6. McEnroe

My 2nd to 6th would be (assuming we're not just talking about accomplishments):

2. McEnroe
3. Lendl
4. Sampras
5. Agassi
6. Connors

I mean, really the answer is completely unquestionable. I just chose my favorite guy. Here is my ranking order:

1. Federer
2. Sampras
3. Lendl
4. Agassi
5. Connors
6. McEnroe

Lol at the 5 ***** who picked Sampras on this poll. They're either on some heavy duty meds or are so up the Fed hating ladder it's worth taking note.

Sampras's biggest rival who also happens to be on this poll has repeatedly put Fed on a different level, no need to look further for a reliable source for this answer than Andre.

Where's the option "Rod Laver", for kiki and Limpinhitter?

Well as far as I'm aware, hardcourts became a dominant surface in the late 1970s when all the tournaments in America switched from green clay to hardcourt to mirror the US Open. I would loved to have seen the likes of Indianapolis and Cincinnati on green clay! But I assume Limphitter is joking when he mentions the Rocket

Federer is clear leader here, I would have thought some of the other guys in the poll would have had good mentions, I think the margins between the players are closer than the poll suggests.

Now, I wonder which players in future will be joing this illustrious company? Djokovic so far is the obvious choice but who else? I can't think of too many young up and coming exciting talents on hardcourt at the moment.

Well guys like NadalAgassi and kik despise Federer so it's no surprise they will never vote for him.

Agassi knows best because he played them both in their prime.
Quote:
"Pete was great, I mean, no question. But there was a place to get to with Pete. You knew what you had to do. If you do it, it could be on your terms. There's no such place like that with Roger.
"I think he's the best I've played against. He does things that others just can't do," said Agassi, playing in his 20th consecutive US Open.

"I've played a lot of them over the years, but there's a safety zone, there's a place to get to, there's something to focus on, there's a way," he said about attacking those other esteemed rivals.

"Anything you try to do, he potentially has an answer for, and it's just a function of when he starts pulling the triggers necessary to get you to change to that decision.
"He plays the game in a very special way. I haven't seen it before."

Waiting for a "Agassi played Federer in his 30's so there's no comparison" comment from NadalAgassi or kiki

Well NadalAgassi and kiki have nothing to support their biased opinion, and they actually think people will buy their story. LOL

Agassi in his 30s also said he was playing some of his best tennis. And after his loss to Roger, he pointed out that if he can play this high level, he likes his chance against anybody(including Pete). I can't find his quote anymore.

Lol dude I know that. It's just that Laver has so much talent in his pinky, according to kiki, that he would have won all the imaginary matches against HC greats like Lendl, Sampras, Federer and Mac.

WHAT? All of the tournaments turned from green clay to hard courts in the late 70's? That's ridiculous! Where did you get that from?

And, NO, I'm not joking about The Rocket. His best surface was hard courts, and IMO, he has as strong a claim to the greatest player who ever lived as anyone.

Love how this thread completely turned into a grass court debate! Great stuff.

To answer the OP question. I can't say greatest, since too many variables come into play. Different generations, changes in equipment etc etc etc. But I will say that Federer is the most accomplished player on hardcourts.

Talker quoted you when you said "The Rocket, of course!"

You're just trolling and the mod deleted it. Which was the right thing to due.

Please refrain yourself from being a fanatic. Laver isn't the best player on hc, clay or grass.

We have many debates about the greatest player on grass, clay and hc, and Laver was NEVER mentioned as the best.

This thread is not about Laver. Stop trolling !
