When I see this kind of FH´s from Verdasco I ask myself what would be if he had a brain? He would be a serious threat to the top players!

With his age the time for him is over now but I hope can beat some top 10 players again.

The thing with Verdasco FH is that with a footwork which is so bad but can create so good shots that must be really good and when people say Federer has the best FH of all time they must include the fact that Federer has by far the Footwork in tennis history and so he can hit his FH alot more safer and better.

What im trying to say is that because of that I would rate Verdasco´s FH higher than Federer´s

I think that off court weight training with Gil Reyes really helps. It is one tough training regimen but if you have the body and time, it might be worth it.

Nando's forehand is great, those two forehands were quite amazing but let's not get silly here. Fed's forehand is a complete weapon all day, everyday...his go-to shot that he can rely on when all else fails. This cannot be said about Fernando's.

P.S: 'Dasco his another big one at 6-5 0-15 on Nadal's serve in the third set too.

yes, he does have a great FH. the problem with Verdasco is a complete lack of consistency. He has all weapons, good mover, very good technique, yet you never know what to expect from him. I feel sometimes he has a multiple personality disorder. It's like which Nando is going to show up?

This is nothing new. He has had ALL the tools to be Top 10, maybe even Top 5 however he is so mentally weak.

Don't bring up the fact that he came back today, because he has had great wins before by digging deep (USO 10 vs Ferrer) however he just can't keep it up.

From a technical standpoint his forehand is as lethal as anyone in the ATP when it is on. The problem is exactly like a switch, when its off its off. He cannot hit inside the lines for the life of him.

I mean watch this video...this match was SO EPIC. The return at 3-1 in the breaker was just out of this world.

I don't think it's a case of his forehand being on and off. I think on the whole his FH (and actually the rest of his game) is usually pretty consistent. APART from his serve. That's what really let's him down coz it buckles under pressure, his ball toss goes and he starts rolling it in.

If his serve was as solid as, say, Tsonga's, he would be that kind of player: a power baseliner who blows even the top guys off court.

I reckon, with a good second serve and a consistent, big first serve he could have had a career just like Gonzo. Shame

Verdasco has everything he needs(though he could use some work on those DF) to be a top10 player, maybe even top 5, it's just that he is constant choker most of the time.

All he has is that forehand though. Poor movement, mediocre backhand, good serve but nothing special, no volleys, no slice.

Good point...the come back was solidified when in the 5-3 game he finally got some first serves in to set up his points. From that game onward, he started getting alot of first serves in.

I agree..I think the fast conditions combined with facing the lefty with the rocket fh gave nadal fits today and took him out of his game.

when verdasco started zoning , nadal had no answer.
