yes Unless he figured he had no chance to win the doubles event. That wildcard into US open is probably more valuable than anything else. Lets be honest, winner of Klahn and Johnson semi will most likely win the singles event. thus get the wildcard into US open.

Johnson has been dominating the last few matches they played. It could be the same again. But let's not forget that the last two matches were when Klahn was still "recovering" from injury. I hope Johnson is not at his best, and that Klahn is... this could be a very close match.

Gibbs up 6-2 against Will. Burdette up 5-2 against Susanyi.
This could be a family reunion in the final.

Rola turning it on this tournament. He has a lot of pro experience, was 388 in the world. Usually guys at that level don't consider college especially if they are foreign.

Gibbs in the final! All Stanford final.

Agree about Rola, he's a great player. I guess he wasn't good enough to turn pro at 18...

Johnson on his injury, from ZooTennis (http://tenniskalamazoo.blogspot.se/) "After singles I was feeling just exhausted physically and I tried to come out here and play doubles, but my body just wasn't holding up," said Johnson, who had an ice bag wrapped around his stomach area. "I knew more time on the court would be bad for me, so I just decided the body wasn't feeling good, so just call it a day. The heat finally got to me today, and I've 12, 16 hours to get ready for singles tomorrow against Bradley, so I'll get up in the morning with a better attitude, I think."

Brad, cut the UE!!! Trying to blast every return and landing them all 3 feet long is not going to do you any good.

Very disappointed with Brad right now.... He's just losing this match on too many UE, very disappointing.

Johnson taking so much extra time between each point, walking away when Brad is ready to serve... He looks like a nice guy, but I'm not sure of his sportmanship sometimes.

Really poor tiebreak from Rola. Dumpd two 2nd serve returns into the net, shanked a random backhand mid-point.
