I somewhat agree. There's no point in playing if he's both injured and out of form on clay this season. Besides what would a 4th round or QF appearance change in his career?

I don't think it's worth it.

I'm beginning to think he should. He's defending semi-finalist points but if he's not up to it...he's not up to it and it really does seem that he's not up to it!

It's a real bummer for us Murray fans but the important thing is he gets himself fully fit again or he'll just keep exacerbating whatever injury is currently holding him back. In this form, I just can't see him getting past the early rounds at RG.

What a shame after his great start to the year. But there it is!

Back injury doesn't sound good and I don't see what his stake would be in RG, he's not even in the first 4 favs imo and coming in with a injury surely won't help his cause, in fact it might damage his WB run if he's not careful.

It might be a good idea, it would give him a few extra weeks of light grass court practise too.

his clay form has been mediocre at best and he is not going to lose his no4 spot so I tend to agree with ze German, get ready for Wimby and Olympics

He just lost to Gulbis in straight sets at the Mary-Cohr exho, someone who he has a 4-0 h2h against.

He should withdraw from RG, take a couple of weeks r&r, then make sure he's OK for this year's long grass season.

If you say so, then I guess it would be the right decision.

You're right that there's not only W but the OG in London, too.

It's very simple. if he is injured, of course he shouldn't play at RG. if not, he should play ...

He should pull out. Murray really needs an Olympic gold. As many posters on her point out, that is the most amazing accomplishment in Tennis.

He's defending semi-final, so probably will play if he's able to run.

Someone here nailed it. If he is injured, he shouldn't play. If he isn't, he should.

Those 720 points he's defending are worthless in the big picture.

I hope he is fit and plays RG
If he doesn't play, we will be stuck with a boring semfinal where Nadal plays Tsonga or Ferrer or Berdych. (Assuming Fed-Djoker will be in the same half as usual)

It's even worse..it's 5-0 (unofficially 5-1 now)!

I agree (as I've said elsewhere). His form has been poor in every single clay tourney he's played this year. Don't see how he can suddenly turn it round for RG. He should forget the 720 points he'll lose, he's still secure at #4 and he should try and get into better shape for Queens, Wimby and the Olympics. They have to be the important goals for him this year...and the most realistic ones!
