When does your 40 plus USTA league start ?

It looks like ours is tentatively going to start this fall, with sectionals taking place in the fall of 2013. I guess this will avoid conflicts between the "regular" USTA league, which takes place in the spring/summer. The only problem is that it makes for a long season for the guys who are playing the regular USTA league right now. Not sure how many 4.5 teams there will be, but I'm hoping for at least four.

Sounds like normal early start league tennis to me.

I haven't heard when it's supposed to start in Southern Cal.

My understanding is that it will run concurrently with the Adult season ... meaning here it will start next april/may

In NorCal it is not concurrent with Adult... Adult is spring, 40+ will be winter.

At least that part NorCal got right. Now if only they hadn't messed up the format - only 1S / 2D in regular league play, then 2S / 3D in postseason. Just crazy. But there's a whole other thread about that...

For my area in SoCal, it sounds the 40+ league is going to be 3 doubles, but sectionals and beyond is 2 singles, 3 doubles. It's up to the local league coordinator to determine the format in SoCal. And, it is going to start in January, so it will be a different time than the 18+ spring league which starts in April in SoCal.
