Default New GR4 Colorway

I was just about to send a pair in for warranty claim and just saw the new offering from TW. I'm going to try and request this new colorway!

I love that shoe. The best colorway of a tennis shoe I have seen this year.

I was all set to get a pair of the Lotto Raptors and those were introduced the same day. Now I'm in a quandary about which to get. I like my GR3s a lot, but there are things I could see being better about them. I've heard great things about the Raptor III, but know that I like the Asics a lot and would hate to go looking for something better and find out that what I had before has it beat...

Order both from TW, compare them here, send the worse one back.

I LOVED the Lotto shoes I had a couple years ago (Syn Raptor II) but I think these new Speeds are for much narrower feet. At least I know the previous version was, and this new III looks like the exact same shoe as the II.

Jgads - I went with the Asic Speed Solutions and they are great. No jabbing like the GR4s which were a lot less than the GR3s but this colorway makes me want to just buy the GR4s for the looks .

As far as exclusive colorways...do they reproduce them or is it a one time deal? I got my wife the wonky bright gr4's. So far only 1 other lady around here has a pair. I believe the ladies are sold out now, so does that mean no others will be available ever?

There's a plastic piece on the side of the shoe that is really stiff and when you move laterally, it tend to rub or in my case feels like it digs into my ankle. Since everyone's foot anatomy is different, it may or may not be an issue.

Really? I had the ankle jabbing issue with the 3s, not the 4s. I wish the Speeds would work - I love the look and I can tell they were super, super comfy and nicely light, but they were too narrow for my wide feet to play tennis in. My left foot was kind of going over the edge of the shoe. Not so with the GR4.

so JGADS, did you go 1/2 size smaller or the same as with the GR3s?

The ankle jabbing was the worst with the 3s and the 4s were much better but still bothered me a bit. I guess if I broke them in, they would probably end up being okay.

They really did a great job with the Speed Solutions, it feels like a running shoe with lateral support. Fast and light and decent amount of cushioning. Maybe your left foot is slightly larger hence they felt cramped.

1/2 size smaller. BUT.. tried another GR4 today and the normal size felt perfectly fine, leading me to believe that Asics might have altered or corrected the sizing issue from the earliest versions they put out? Just a guess, as my normal size was WAY too long when I first got the 4s, and then today my normal size felt fine.

It is larger than the right, one of the things that often makes my shoe shopping experience a nightmare. Actually think I'm going Babolat SFX on my next shoe for a little changeup; extremely plush and nicely wide.

Yeah I can also see how that could make it quite expensive. You might have to buy two pairs of shoes just to make your feet happy. I guess I am going to have to order up both sizes again to see if Asic did fix their sizing as I love the new colorway and willing to take some time to break in the shoe.

Let us know how the Babolat SFX works out for you. I had the Propulse 3s and my only grip was the poor forefoot cushioning. It felt a bit thin and after a couple hours, the front of my foot was sore.

I guess wish the Speed Solution had the Michelin rubber of the Propulse 3s which would make it the GSOAT.

Decided against the SFXs because I think they're actually too plush for me, if that's possible. I like a little court feel and the Resolutions offer a plush feel but you still feel the court, which helps in getting those good jumps to the ball. I know what you mean about the forefoot cushioning leading to issues. That used to be the case with my old Wilson Tour Visions - after a couple months, the bottoms wore down so much the forefoot was always sore afterward. Don't have that issue with the Resolutions; cushioning doesn't really wear down too much over time, to the shoe's credit.

Totally agree. I just can't get into the gray/orange. I love those two colors on a shoe, but the busyness of the GR4 pattern, with the added white/silver that's added to the shoe, just makes it all look too busy and messy for me. TWE has all of the best colorways.

yeah, and why does TWE get multiple colorways for the solution speed while TW only offers neon green?
