Default Babolat Pure Storm 2013... New Tech?

Thread Title says all... will the 2013 PS line have a new technology or will it continue with the 2011 version with just a new paint job?

Anyone with Bab inside info?

My guess is that it will have the monocoque construction of the grip in order to fit the 'play and connect' device and they could sell it as new tech on this change alone.

Sorry to revive an old thread but was wondering if anyone knew any more information. A friend told me that the new 2013 PST will release in Jan and its a new paint job with no new technology.. can anyone confirm?

I heard differently that the Storm line is being replaced with a new Flat Beam Model late this year.

Isn't the racquet now already a Flat Beam?

Yes it is, I am saying it is going to be replaced by a new line. It will not be called the Storm and I should have said the new line will a flat beam stick.

Meaning I am told it will not be called the Pure Storm.

That is what the Rep told my friend at Las Vegas Golf & Tennis

But it will be the continuation of the Pure Storm line?

My understanding is a new replacement line/stick, and my take was that the Pure Storm line will be discontinued.

The reason I was told this I was about to buy a Pure Storm and I was told to hold off. They were having a 20% sale at the time so I went with the Volkl Organix 9.

Interesting development. I hope they improve it otherwise time to stock up on the current one as it's one of the most underrated racquets out there. Also, why does TW not review this racquet as it's been out for a few years now.

I know that there's not much to improve on the ST but one thing I would like is some better quality control with Babolat... which I know is probably impossible. Para I know we've talked about how I've found the factory replacement grips to be gripped poorly. Sometimes they're okay, most of the time they aren't.

Is it just me, or does nobody seem to care about the Pure Storm line? It isn't nearly as popular as the Aeros or Pure Drives, just because Nadal and Roddick paint their sticks to look like them. Why is the Pure Storm so less popular?

Because it is for more traditional, control oriented, all-court, players who are at least a 4.0+. There are simply less around.

The other factor is that this segment doesn't like the feel of Babolat and are used t more Yonex, Volkl, Prestige, Pro Staff , Dunlop 200 or Fischer/Pacific type of feel.

There was a video of the gripping process up here once. It was a woman sitting at a spindle in a high-tech factory.

Not exactly a high skilled job, but one you would need to be completely attuned to it to do it well, so I'd imagine that you could get all sorts of bad jobs coming out of such a system.

Is this Babolat specific?

Hello, my name is Daniel. I work for Babolat. The Pure Storm line was relaunched in 2011. That was simply a cosmetic upgrade from 2009. 2013 is the same racquet/cosmetic as 2011.
