Del Potro's US Open performance (pretty much the whole way, not just the final) was amazing tennis. However, since then his form has looked much worse. I know he was sidelined for a while with injury but that's far enough in the past now. So was he just a one-slam wonder that was lucky and playing great in the US Open, or will he return to top form and win more slams?

Delpo is my 2nd favorite player, but I will admit he does not seem to be the same Delpo pre-injury. I am concerned if he will ever return to that form. I still really enjoy watching him play, though.

he wasn't lucky to win the US Open, he was unlucky to get injured.
there's a ton he can improve on, i'm sure, but from a fan's perspective i think endurance and fitness is something that can be improved. it was clear that after being up 2-0 to federer at the french that he wasn't going to be able to sustain his form for the rest of the match for some reason, from fitness or injury or something.

3-4. He is just 23 and he had a horrible injury that cost him like 2 years of his career. He is not a one-slam wonder by any means. He will win another one for sure. Probably the USO again and AO/RG.

It would be nice to see him win 1 or 2 more, but he hasn't even made a SF in a slam since his injury.

It is hard to say. He still has a chance to reach as high as 4 at some point but he is no lock to win even one more. If forced to guess now I would say that will be his only one to be honest. I hope he can atleast win a Masters title.

If he switches to the Juice Pro he'll conquer all before him. If he sticks with the HPS, he'll struggle.

He must be still injured otherwise he would be mopping up the slams.
Brainless ballbashing beats every other style of play, no? Every match he enters is on his racket, yes? |
