He only won one set against an almost granpa 29 year old Federer.

Maybe he will beat Federer in indoors when Federer is 33.

I think that if Federer holds the No. 1 ranking after the US Open, he will go on a tear during the indoor season looking to end the year ranked No. 1. I fully expect him to win the WTF again, so I don't think Nadal would gain any ground against Federer should they meet there again this year.

Absolutely.

Only thing Federer is better than Nadal at is performing ballet and collecting man bags.

I see everyone is using examples outside grand-slams that have fast courts, well let me tell you nadal has won the most important fast courts surface outside the slams, the Beijing Olympics singles gold medal, Federer, nope.

Why can't you support your favourite player without antagonizing those who support someone else?

Yes, Nadal's pitiful 0-4 record against Federer at the WTF proves this beyond a shadow of a doubt.

And, yes, the WTF is a VERY big event. Every match is against a Top 8 player. It used to be more important than both the French and Australian Opens.

I think that is the question that should be given to all the Fedtars, they started the war, nadal and his fans will finish it

well now it is not so important, half the guys are out of gas or injured by that time of the year, last year was a perfect example, nole and rafa had nothing left in the tank, another was injured can't remember who, maybe it was murray, it was a joke, then Federer goes onto win and everyone in this forum makes it seem like the greatest title ever lol, it is a joke compared to the olympics.

Good thing for you you didn't write "it is a joke compared to Wimbledon".

Of course, writing "the olympics" shows that you don't know squat about tennis--but hey, that's fine, we already knew that anyway.

Please! Olympic tennis is only considered something of importance (kind of) NOW because Nadal has something Federer doesn't. The format of the Olympics makes it only slightly more difficult to win than a MS1000 event and, in reality, you could win the event without having to face one Top 8 player. The difference which makes the Olympics prestigious is that athletes are competing against people and teams they wouldn't normally play against. The field is much different from what those athletes are normally used to. For many, they're representing their country for the first time. In tennis, this is the norm. The Olympics doesn't feature any different kind of a field than a slam or a Masters; it's simply another event on the calendar.

not to mention the field is arbitrary depending on what players the country lets even participate in the games.
