Default Static box jump

I have started doing static box jump to burn some fat in my midsection. have anyone tried this workout and found any benefit in tennis like increased leg strength and increased speed in court?

Is that anything like the standing long jump of yesteryears?
Gotta do quite a few to get the benefits.

It is a jump in which you stay static with knees bent at close to 90*, like a chair and then jump on to a box.

It is one of many great exercises for tennis. It trains your leg muscles for short bursts of power, similar to what you would use in tennis. Strength exercises like box jumps will ensure that your serve still has some power deep into a match.

Box jumps are not a strength exercise.
