No. Actually the one thing about all David Lynch movies is that they are very different from each other (if equally surrealistic). Eraserhead is completely unique in its feel. Filmed in black and white with a very small cast against the backdrop of an industrialized post apocalyptic society, I think it's the movie from Lynch which emanates a more urgent sense of desperation and madness (which is saying a lot).

Or is it just that he sees the world for what it truly is? And sane people are actually deluded and mad but the illusion of reality is what makes them think they are sane? |

Yes, indeed. The idea is not original but continues to be intriguing. Life and human beings' stint on Earth is surrealistic any way you look at it.

That is an exaggeration. Some people forget Napoleonic France was one of the mightiest military empires Europe (and the world) ever saw. Also, France helped the Revolutionary cause in the American Civil War.
People like giving France a tough time for WW II, and although I agree they could have fought a tougher fight, the Germans were unstoppable at that point. So maybe they capitulated because they foresaw it would be a better decision in the long run (if not as honorable). Don't take me wrong, I'd never do what the French did, but I see how somebody might decide to do that. Remember this when China invades the U.S. We are going up a shyt creek without a paddle. |

Actually he doesn't care for Serbia as much as he talks about it. Being a resident of Monaco he deosn't pay a brass farthing to his best beloved motherland. That's a strange variety of love IMO.

Unless you want to be cruel and rub Nadalgaenger's nose in it, then there's not much point in discussing the subject further. So we decided to discuss history, art and philosophy instead. Last edited by Fedex : 08-03-2012 at 01:28 AM. |
