Fish is terrible, THE worst American number 1 I've ever known. Iner isn't much better. There must be a new cycle of American tennis players due to come through soon.
Isner is no good. That is why he defeated Federer in Davis Cup in which he should not have been selected considering the formidable talent on this forum.

The Olympics will now be held in high regard due to Federer getting a singles medal finally. I think the tournament was really hyped up after the amazing tennis of 2008 and Rafa winning it. Now that one of the best of all time openly talks of his aspirations to get that medal, people place more weight on it. If the 2016 and 2020 Olympics are like the 2012 or 2008, then it will be firmly established as a top tournament. Who knows, maybe 2008 and 2012 will be for the Olympics what the Open Era was for the Tour.

Too many of our American tennis players simply have no respect for prestigious international competitions like the Olympics or Davis Cup. All they care about is money. And you know what? Sampras was the biggest putz of all...maybe if he hadn't set such a bad example, more of our players would be serious about playing for their country.
Mardy also has a really bad experience with the Olympics. He lost the 2004 Gold due to an untimely bathroom break. If I already had a silver and wasn't rolling in cash, I'd probably have a similar opinion. I'd rather get paid.

No this isn't Davydenko
