...this summer has been somewhat less than wonderful. Not on the court, I'm actually hitting the ball pretty well, it's off the court that ain't so good, and I'm sure we all have a pretty unhealthy dose of that more than we'd like.
Anyway...I've had a real habit of mouthing off in the past about what a Bad Thing NTRP is, and I'm gonna stop doing that. As long as we're all still above ground and on a tennis court, it doesn't matter all that much what playing scenario each of us chooses...it's just a choice, and it's still tennis. If I see something in any of the TW Fora that I think I can comment on in terms of the game itself...strokes, strategies, whatever...I'll continue to do that. But no more NTRP bashing. My apologies, and have a good summer...

Youre posts (in my opinion) have been very good so I care only that you continue to contribute your knowledge.

Bash all you want. It has not affected my opinion, but perhaps it has changed others' opinion. That is what discussion boards are for.

I agree. I don't actually agree with you in this regard, although I do in many others, but you have always been civil and logical..

Civil and logical counts for quite a lot.

Just imagine if most posters took the time and care skiracer55 does in his posts. We'd have about 1/10th the quantity of posts and a 10 times the quality. But imagine the boards without TeflonTom jibberish. A guy like skiracer55 equalizes it.

Why make people have to decipher your shorthand when you're entirely capable of expressing your ideas in standard, conventional, more easily understood ordinary language?
Now, after having said that, I still must say that what I understand to be your opinions are, to me, for the most part, quite reasonable and even compelling. I think it would be interesting to play some tennis with you and converse more or less conventionally. And of course, I harbor no illusion that you're going to alter your mode of expression on this forum. But, I'm an old guy who hit earlier in the hot midday sun of south Florida and have nothing else to do while I'm both recuperating and energized.

Corbind, I tried to reply to your racquet trade request but for some reason I don't see it posted. I am in the Chicago area and I am interested in the racquets. I can be contacted at jmiller@ottosenbritz.com. Joe

...in my initial post, I just wanted to own up to some (ahem) less than stellar communications...for example, the one where I unfavorably compared NTRP tennis to shuffleboard...and I've managed to start yet another bar fight.
So I said my piece, and let's move on. I have another topic I've been thinking of which is "A Summer Tuneup for Your Game", so look for that thread, coming soon...
