Fed is worried that he might not win US open if Rafa isnt there bcoz if Rafa doesnt turn up, then there is no US open, no audience, no coverage.
Just continuing the trend.

Looks like the years of grinding have finally took their toll on Rafa. Many predicted his career would be shortened due to vicious stroke production and longer points.

I couldn't be less of a Rafa fan, but I would never wish for a serious, career-threatening injury (physical or mental). I hope he recovers and is able to return to the tour.

Write him? Who talks like that any more? It is all about email, FB, Skype, cell phones, and IM these days dude.

Not unheard of to say write for modern communication formats, especially formal emails.

Maybe he did not want people to make an issue "ooh Federer and Nadal email/SMS each other"

Wrong thing to troll on Suresh, find a Federer/Murray reference, gold medal etc.

Let me know when he pulls out.

Until then, I don't believe a word of this. He was "questionable" for the AO, too. Then he was possibly a missed backhand down the line away from winning the thing.

That's why I never believe anything that comes from the Nadal camp.

Playing possum is a way of life in professional tennis. Roger Federer seems to be one of the few exceptions to this.

Rafael Nadal - Giant severe injury possum.
Andy Murray - Injury possum.
Novak Djokovic - Fatigue possum.
Juan Martin Del Potro - Lazy, limping possum.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga - Possum who got hit in the possums.
Gael Monfils - Long-legged possum playing a possum rolling around in the street every 3 points.

Fred knows Ralph is propped up in bed & can only have Uncle Foni read him a handwritten letter, personally delivered of course.

Fred, as usual, is a very classy, humble & down-to-earth person that does not wish to send Ralph something as impersonal as an IM.

I know Federers old but seriously, WRITE to him?

Has this guy not heard of a phone? Surely these guys have secret personal facebook accounts to drop an inbox too.

Edit: lololololol, looks like everyone else has picked that up too.

I bet that must be knowing each other's Mobile numbers and can drop in messages whenever they want.

Well Murray and Nadal are sexting all the time, so surely if Murray-Nadal exchange digits then Fed/Nadal must do the same.

Not sure where Djokovic fits in with the 3-way love triangle of exchanging numbers.

Not a jab.

- "...playing well at Wimbledon"
- "...looked OK at Wimbledon"

= 2 very different things. Federer said the latter.

You could appear to be physically fine, yet still lose because your opponent just simply played better. That's what REALLY happened.

Federer didnt say Nadal played well, just that he seemed to look fine esp after winning RG.

MAYBE its both Fed AND Nadal bs.

How many times have we seen Nadal complain about himself physically then go on to physically dominate every opponent his way to Slam victories? 3-4 times? How many times in Masters1000s?

Nadal hams up his injuries and his plight and makes himself out to be a hero. 90% of the Hispanic fans gobble up this hero viewpoint and don't question any of these antics without batting an eyelash.

Wow, you don't give up do you, and again you are so stupidly tactless, not even trying to disguise yourself in any way. I bet you had a little cry after your 6-0 account was banned eh?

This new account of yours will be banned by the end of the day.

Cheerio

I'd be very very surprised if Nadal pulled out of the US Open.

Federer is worried that Nadal might come back and he will have to postpone his retirement which he has planned this year assuming Nadal will retire before that.
