What racquet in stock form (that isn't a Babolat, since I've tried every Babolat) in the 11.0 to 11.3 ounce range offers big power (groundstrokes as well as serves), as well as a stable and solid feel?
Thanks. TripleB

Dude you should make a thread called TripleB's grail search because you are all over the place with A vs B..etc...lol.
Try the Wilson BLx team and the tecnfibre 305. The 305 has a real solid feel and hits big. I really liked that stick a lot. I think between one of those you should be all set.

I liked the Head Extreme MP..I currently use the Youtek version and it gives me plenty of power if I need it. Plus it offers a lot of spin as well..If you're not a fan of Head, the Wilson BLX Pro open is a nice racket as well..

Pro Open for sure as well..I have one in my closet Id sell for cheap. It's very tweenerish.
The wilson and Tec are more modern player's frames in a lighter weight..smaller heads, beams are 22mm, a little more focused on control, but the tec hits pretty big.

If you can handle just a bit more weight my Donnay Pro One weighs in at 11.6 strung
I don't use any of the weighting adjustments and replaced the stock grip with Babolat Skin Feel to keep it as light as possible. Still feels pretty hefty due to the balance of the frame I previously used a YT Prestige MP (with lead at 3 and 9) and several regular hitting partners have commented on the added weight and power of my groundies and serves since I switched to the Donnay. Obviously have lost a bit of control and precision, but have made up for it with the ability to end points quicker and score more free points off my serve. |

I've been able to generate a lot of power with the Dunlop Biomimetic 400 Tour. Had to tweak the string and lead tape set-up though.

The (Paul) Angell line will tentatively launch around the end of the month, should offer solid feel and very good power based on experience with the Vantage sticks. Donnay Formula 100 also has nice feel and plenty of power.

Yonex Ezone xi 100. All the power of a Babolat, with better comfort and spin. Check it out.

I second the Wilson Pro Open. Like a Pure Drive with a little more feel.

http://www.vantagetennisintl.com/ Vantage tennis is alive and kicking. I just last week met the owner of the company (no, it's not Paul...it's Sven) and, subsequently demoed their BC 20 and it's an AMAZING stick. |

Demo the Gamma RZR 98. I have the blackracquet.com version of this beast and it is a controllable power monster and is within your weight range. I think of it as a more controllable and more solid Aero Pro Drive.

Have you tried the Tecnifibre TFlash 300 Speedflex? A little lighter than the 305 but has 16 mains instead of 18. Quote:

Any problem with the maneuvability of this version? The only 2 points headlight worries me a little. Thanks for everyone's input so far. TripleB

I tapped out from demoing sticks. It just was killing my game and my arm hates stiff racquets anyway. My friend needed to replace his old school 90s sticks and so I tried everything he demoed for a few hits when we played. Of all of them, the Tecnifibre was beastly at serving, groundie power, feel and control. The tight pattern did not really lessen the amount of spin I could get with it either. I think it is a highly slept on racquet that a lot of people would love.

I second this. The RZR is great if controllable power and maneuverability is your preference.

The feel is very, very solid. Stiff without feeling harsh on the elbow. I've put 4g of lead along the lower part of the handle (4 x 1g strips) and an overgrip on to make it a touch more headlight giving it a better balance imo. Feels light and maneuverable to me and i don't like heavy rackets.

I will throw another nod in for the BLX Pro Open. Very nice racquet with decent pop and control. Only issue I had was the low swingweight. Found myself just mishitting left and right. Switched to the Slazenger Pro Braided and things improved immediately. I just seem to do better with a frame in the mid 11oz range with a 325-335sw.

Nothing serves better in that weight range than a racquet with a 26mm beam.
