Default Comparing Federer and Nadal's Grand Slam Performance

I thought it would be interesting to compare how Federer and Nadal have performed in Grand Slams relative to each other.

Since Nadal's first Grand Slam (2005 French Open), there have been 30 Grand Slams played - Federer has outperformed Nadal in 16 of the Grand Slams. Nadal has outperformed Federer in 13 of the Grand Slams. They reached the same round at one Grand Slam.

Since Nadal's first Grand Slam (2005 French Open), there have been 27 Grand Slams played where both Nadal and Federer were entered. Amazingly, Federer outperformed Nadal in 13 of the Grand Slams and Nadal out performed Federer in 13 of the Grand Slams. They reached the same round at one Grand Slam.

Federer has won 20 or more Grand Slam matches in a season for 8 consecutive years (9 if he reaches the quarterfinals of this year's U.S. Open). Nadal has two streaks of winning 20 or more Grand Slam matches in season for 2 consecutive years.

Which basically means they are both great players and maybe we should start respecting them both and appreciating what a great era of tennis we had and stop the flaming.

You're correct, they're both top players. Federer is just more consistent at Wimbledon, ect, while Nadal is consistent at the French Open.

Convenient to forget Roger's first 4 slam wins prior to 2005 FO.

Not that I disagree MN but we both know there's more chance of a purple elephant flying past your window right now than that happening.

I can't see McEnroeisanartist's post, but I'm guessing that it started off as "I thought it would be interesting..." and then went on to post some obscure statistic that is hardly interesting at all.
