Default Gotta Want It - Season 4: Mixed Doubles

Our video series, Gotta Want It, is back!!

This season, follow playtesters Andy & Siobhan as they get ready to play mixed doubles at the Santa Maria Open. They will be running through drills and playing practice sets/matches.

A new episode will be posted each Tuesday and Thursday leading up to the tournament on September 1st.

If you have any suggestions for drills they can work on, let us know and we may put it in a future episode!

Episode 1: http://bit.ly/O1ycTC

Catch up on the previous seasons of Gotta Want It: http://bit.ly/QXbKLI

Enjoy!

Thanks,

Jason, TW

She was playing points against an ATP ranked player. She is not horrible, she was actually doing really well.

Picky, picky FC. I don't know what you're watching but I think I'm in love. Love that SLO accent! I just don't think I'd ever be able to pronounce her name, it must be Danish, she's probably from Solvang. Glad to see their coach, French Park, was play-testing the new "Pete" Wilson. What I want to know is who makes her shorts? Love her pink grip, she's a girly-girl. The ball-toss on the serve was a bit high, but it worked for Steffi. Give me a week-end with her at Avila and I'll have her serving like Roscoe. I'm gonna' start hanging out at the ladies dept at TW.

Go Girl!

Her volley grip looks a little weird / uncomfortable.

I do like the series but I wish TW would show more video / longer video of actual matchplay and points when they eventually get to the tournament, as it would be interesting seeing strategies and plays.

We're going to try to do a live stream from their matches during the tournament. Key word is TRY. Keep your fingers crossed!

That sounds great, Jason. Any chance of a recorded video though or highlights? Reason being you have a global audience here (no pressure Andy / Siobhan! ) as well big time differences across the US as well so catching a live stream isn't always the easiest (unless its on at the weekend).

I'm not sure what you were expecting, but she played pretty well to me. I honestly think so many people have this expectation that higher ranked players are supposed to be perfect and make zero errors... That just doesn't happen.

No coffee bro, just tea. To ease your lack of equilibrium and expand your reading comprehension, go down to the village and try some herb.

You have to remember who she was hitting against. If she were hitting against your average 4.0-4.5 rec player she probably would look pretty good.

Horrible? Really unless you have ATP points or are a strong 5.0 5.5 player this is poor. If she was playing against a 4.0 player maybe even a 4.5 she would look far better. She is a nice player and wish them both well.

She definitely plays great. Love her ground strokes, but she definitely doesn't look comfortable at net.

Does anyone know if she was primarily a singles player in college? I know she was 4-5 singles, but don't know if she played a lot of doubles.

IF the live stream works, it will also be automatically recorded so it'll be available on our youtube page for you to watch at your pleasure.
