Default Minnesota Open ($2000 Prize Money Tournament)

2nd Annual Minnesota Open
Open Division Qualifying Draw August 27 - August 29
Open Division Main Draw August 30 - September 2
All other draws August 27 - September 2

$2000 prize money total
$750 for first place
Prize Money awarded beginning in the quarterfinals

We just started the tournament last year with $400 in prize money for the open men's divisions, along with a big range of NTRP and age division events for other players to play.

We are still working on some of the details. We are working on getting some of the members at the club to provide housing for the main draw entrants.

We probably won't have interviews or video feeds this year like some of the other big tournaments that get mentioned on here do. This is only our second year running the tournament and we have a ways to go before we get that big. But I'll try to keep everyone updated on the progress of the tournament.

Last time I talked to him, Tony Larson had committed to playing in the tournament

Definitely planning to come. One of the most unique and best run tournaments ive ever played. The tournament officials and organizers go out of their way to accomodate the players and there are tons of great prizes as a part of the tournament series.

We just confirmed we will have housing available for out-of-state players. No guarantees on how much, but we'll do our best to make it work if there is a lot of demand.

Registration closes in a couple days. At the moment we only have a couple pro circuit / college players playing, so there is still a good opportunity to win some prize money.

Hopefully we can see some of you up here.

Looks like we have a good open draw. Looking forward to getting my clock cleaned.

It was a very solid draw. Twice as many players overall from last year, and the open draw is much deeper this year than it was last year. Our goal next year will be to attract some solid out-of-state players and make the open draw even deeper.

I may enter next year for fun! But I have to get in tournament shape before I do so! That means being able to go all out for three set match and then following day at least two sets. Sore body for sure!

Then you have to go back to the last agreed upon score.
Therefore, you have to play the match over again.

Well done, Tony..

I accidentally clicked on the men's 3.0 singles and happened to notice one Suresh B Ravipati winning the final in a tight three set match

could it be???

Way to go Tony!

btw ... you think you could take it easy on those guys next time ??
I mean only letting your opponents have 5 games in 8 sets might demoralize em

You're a beast man, Congrats !
