Default How far would Safin have made in the U.S. Open!!!

okay title says it!! the scenerio?? lets say his at top notch conditions!!! 100% fit, injury free, clear headed Marat Safin was still playing and never retired how far do you think he would make it! given the random factor that he would be playing as a wild card and won't have the oppurtunity to see Fed till the final's and he's on Novak side of the draw till the semi's someone he never lost to.

I would LOVE to see peak Djokovic (2011) against the Safin who beat Sampras in the US Open final or the one who beat Federer in the Australian Open semi. The problem, of course, is that Marat was never quite consistent enough. Like Nalbandian, he should have won more than he did. Both are among my favorite players.

If he is top notch Safin as you said, he should win. He defeated 2005 Fed, he shouldn't lose to 2012 Fed. And he is a bit better than Djokovic too.

I agree in every line.

Good! So guessing by the poll we can all agree he would have done well. Making it to the finals at least.
