Ive donde sports all my life. But, when I run consecutive days I begin to feel kind of sleepy and a bit tired. This does not happen when practicing other physical activities. Is there a reason for this type of feeling after running?

I think it means you have leprosy
(It doesn't really, I was just funning you. Damn I'm getting sleepy all of the sudden)

I think she is
Funny, she doesn't look sleepy at all. Neither do Krajicek or Washington.

Most likely you are over-training. Stop running consecutive days and do something else instead.

I can't stand running, it's no funning for me.

So, the message is "run and have fun". Apparently, I knew it even before creating the thread, thats why I mixed "funning" and "running". But, all your kind advice made me see it clearer.

Could be. But, I always say that overtraining is very relative. One person may overtrain with just a mile of running daily and others could easily run 7-8 miles daily, if not more.

you are not really giving us details on how you exercise. But make sure you take at least 1 day off a week. I always take 1-2 days off a week to rest.

The goal is to get stronger and healthier. If you are running as a training tool, then the goal is not to accumulate miles, but to improve fitness. If you run distance just to be able to run distance, then you can cut back on other activities or just live with being tired all the time. |

Its not always a good idea to cut back. You have to be able to read your own body and react. Perhaps the OP is simply feeling the quite normal effects of starting a new training program. Effects that will dissapate over tiime and result in the OP becoming stronger if he stays the course. Really no way to know for anyone but the OP.

I generally crosstrain. Weights, bar exercises, karate, swimming, running and tennis. Im about to buy a basketball to revisit that sport a bit too. I try and rest one day a week.
Work and raising two young kids is the cherry on top of the ice cream. And, I have to get more sleep but events like night time US Open on tv does not help to get to bed early. |
