Default TW: Sloane Stevens Racket - The Rumored Head Prestige *TRUE 93* 16X19 Pro Stock?

As seen on US Open today and other matches, it's bigger than stock Prestige Mid "93s" (true hitting area 89.5), but smaller than the midplus Prestige "98s":

I know it may have been talked about before; and I know there is already a Prestige mid (true size 89.5) 16X19, which was sold at TW briefly couple of years ago, but is there a pro stock Prestige *TRUE 93* Prestige (or "95" by Head's measurement method which includes the frame itself) 16X19?

And If so, I'd hope TW can bring this to us soon

Yeah because, a moving, ~3 square inches difference is that noticeable when viewed from a distance, on a TV...

Hehehe... I know, but never hurt to ask.

You probably never seen a Head Premier Tour 600 - which is bigger than the Prestige "600"s.

-- I know for fact, since I own both.

So FYI: the mold is already here, though slightly thicker (20mm), we just don't know whether she uses the same mold.

I also own a Premier Tour 600. She is not using that MOLD! The Premier Tour 600 has grooves at the throat bridge. The IG YT Prestige Mid MOLD is flat. She is using the IG Prestige Mid 89.5 MOLD.

Good catch vsbabloat!

Regardless of which mold she's using, just hope that some tour pros are using a true 93 mold that is as powerful as a YP Prestige Pro but smaller... and somehow TW find a way to bring this to us *exclusively* on TW online... like they always do with other pro stocks

Keep dreaming. A true 93 Prestige Mid is in your imagination.

Default The llittle secrets on how to tell the differences...

Alright... can't help to disclose the **basis for the speculation**, even though now we know for fact that it is a 89.5, per Heads rep.

It's actually pretty straight forward:

(just that some folks here may not have owned all the different Head mids and midplus versions long enough to know how to tell them apart)

1. The 98s don't have the last cross string that low. Only 89.5 mids like Prestige mids or true 93s like Premier Tours have the last cross that low.

2. The 89.5 heads are more "narrow" (or thin/elongated) The 93s are slightly rounder, but still not as "round" as the 98s.

--If you own all different Heads mids and midplus, you can tell them apart across the court!!

-- I have my hitting partner blind-switch between the mid and midplus YT Prestiges (same strings), and I can tell which is which across the court 10 out of 10 times, which silenced his ***.

3. I was on the front rows in a match that she played before, may be 20-30 feet away from her seat... I felt that her rackets just look not as "narrow" as the mids (c.f. Safin's Prestige mid), but not as "round" as the 98s.

-- Well, now I can only guess it must be the effects of stringing that made it look rounder.

Can't believe Sloane rocks a Prestige Mid. Love it. Any other girls do the same? Feel like the Mid could be a lot more feasible/doable on the women's tour with the ball and spin not quite as nasty all the time as on the men's tour.

What's the real difference (aside from aesthetic) between black and clear caps?

Not much but if you have lead in the hoop you may not want your opponent to see it.
