I ordered an Angell racket and hope the B grip correspondends with that gripshape. I can easily feel a big difference between dunlop, wilson and prince and prefer the dunlop by far. If you read the explanation of the gripshape you think it is some kind of hybrid of three gripshapes. I hope that is not the case. Last edited by realplayer : 09-07-2012 at 09:20 AM. |

the Angell A shape is the same as Head. The Angell C shape is the same as Prince, and the Angell B Shape is a generic octagon as used by Wilson, Babolat, Dunlop etc.
I guess he saying that Babolat, dunlop, and wilson use a similar grip shape which is kinda of true except wilson is a bit more round and babolat generally runs a half a size bigger. So it looks like: A- Head B- Dunlop-like grip that was used by vantage C- Prince |

I never had the change to play with a Vantage stick so which one would you recommend if you looking for something that hits like a Babolat Pure Storm Tour GT?

I think one of the issues with the grips shapes is that the other tennis racquet brands aren't entirely consistent in the shapes they use (a by-product of using different manufacturers on the basis of cost and being willing to trade-off a little quality control if the price is right).
I believe that Angell use the same supplier and have more exacting standards so the good news is that, if you like the shape it will remain consistent. |

I'm looking foward to buying some Angel frames. Paul is one of the nicest guys in the industry and his designs at Dunlop and Vantage were second to none. These will be some nice sticks!

I have a question would you string a 95 with a 16x19 pattern, with a full multi, with different strength for the mains and the crosses or not? For example 55 for the mains and 53 for the crosses, or just both 54 if you use the same string (a multi)?

Join the queue. I sent at least 4 emails (regarding an order I wanted to place) and never got a reply; although I did get a lot of abuse from the vantage touts on this site when I dared mention it.
