I like Bale because I like "Dark" Batman, which is actually what I like from the new movies, the other ones were more like kids movies.
The Keaton Batman was not little kiddy. I mean the joker shocks someone to a skeleton. Jack still gives me the creeps.

The second one with the Penguin ya was campy. I mean seriously a penguin army and a duck boat are just bad.

Honestly, neither.

Keaton had Batman down, but his Bruce Wayne was awkward. Bale, on the other hand, mastered Bruce Wayne but his Batman voice was terrible, I keep laughing everytime I watch his interrogation of the Joker in The Dark Knight.

The best of both worlds: Kevin Conroy.

I think Keaton was better. He played Bruce Wayne with the right amount of charisma and weirdness that I would expect from a guy who is rich and moonlights as a bat dressed vigilante. Plus he was pretty intimidating in the suit.

I liked Christian Bale just fine but his big boy Batman voice made me chuckle.

I agree with Numenor -- Bale is the definitive Bruce Wayne, but Keaton was a better Batman.

I liked Keaton, but mainly because, for my taste, the new cinematic Batman is over-the-top gloom and twisted psychology.

I like basic good guy heros; a Captain America just willing to punch the bad guy because he's a bad guy, not because of some weird psychological issues, heavy duty creepy stuff, etc.

The nice thing about Keaton is that in the back of one's mind one can always readily see Keaton in a humorous role, so it diminishes all the overwrought gothic "dark" crap. The "dark" stuff is tedious and perhaps blocks the writers from having to come up with a good plot.

All the stuff you listed is what separates Batman from most comics. Its dark and scary thats how its meant to be.

You guys baffle me... perhaps its jealously of Clooney's good looks...

Certainly the best Batman, with Keaton coming in a close 2nd.

Right on! That twisted psychology stuff is not my bag. I like the smash'em up good guys rather than all the weird, heady stuff. I can't relate to "dark" Batman; don't find many characters like that in life.

This is a joke, right? (I honestly can't tell).

Anyhow, I voted Keaton.

The Joker is not for everyone. I find him very interesting as he just is insane but its a controlled insanity which is a very scary thought. One of the few comic book villians that really is creepy.

The Campy Batman movies almost killed the franchise. Even as sexy as Uma Thurman was as Poison Ivy couldnt save that thing.

I was pretty disapointed in a few of the Marvel movies with how goofy or kid friendly they made them. Captain America and Thor where not good to me as they didnt follow the story lines very well. Captain is one of my favorites and they just butchered that movie. I havnt seen the Avengers yet so maybe they get it more right there.

I don't know about best batman, but Jack Nicholson was the best Joker for sure. I'm not really a fan of the new movies. Christopher Nolan and company take themselves way to seriously.

CA was actually enjoyable for me; Thor was horrible and I felt that even I could have done a better job with the project. Avengers was very good; better than CA.
