Fear the Spear! So many weapons on display tonight...Manuel almost 500 total yards (380 pass, 104 rush); Thompson, Wilder Jr., Benjamin (maybe biggest play of the game), all the receivers and Joyner on returns!
Incredible composure to rally from 14-28 to absolutely dominate the last 25 minutes of the game. Clemson has a scary offense but Stoops' Troops rebounded and kept pressing until the mistakes crept into their execution. No letdowns now...USF in Tampa is a Wilder Jr. Homecoming. May he play like his dad used to in the old Sombrero!

The Seminoles had me worried for quite some time. It was great to see them hit their stride and take over the game.

Yessssssss fsu finally repped it. Only way to beat us is with gimmick plays right now. I am flattered that clemson had to get that creative, but we are just a better team this year...finally. We owed them.
That was a great game. Best game of the week..glad to see us show the nation that fsu football is back.

Ducks now #2. They've been representing the PAC well the past few years.

I am real interested in seeing if anyone can play straight up football with FSU besides Alabama (who is the best IMO). I truly am impressed with how creative Clemson got in their playcalling. It was a display that I have not seen in a long time. I mean honestly, I dont care who you root for, that game had to be the most entertaining game of the year. Lots of NFL caliber talent on the field as well.
Now we have a slight trap game in USF. This FSU team is just different than years before. They answer the bell now, and the offense is so versatile that it appears unstoppable. I believe the UF game will be interesting simply because running on them will not be easy. Va Tech will be a challenge due to location and game time. Miami has heart and could upset as well. Those are the 3 trap games I forsee.

^^^The team seems to be drinking Jimbo's Kool-Aid...enjoy the win and get ready for the next one on the schedule. If they are truly buying in, nobody will overlook the Bulls. Stoops will demand a return to single-digit PPGA. FSU 41-7!

Stanford went from scoring 65 on the Huskies last year to just 13 this time. Congrats to UW, but reality should smack them around soon.

WTF is going on in the Pac-12? More good teams this year than I expected (OSU, UW, UCLA), but how does Stanford lose that game?
Seems like it's a middle heavy conference without many elite teams. Oregon is doing well so far, but I don't entirely trust us. Now UW makes me a bit nervous, as does Oregon State, Stanford and of course, USC. |

I'm not sold on FSU's defense. Yes I know Clemson has a great offense but they still almost gave up 40 points. It's clear Clemson has had a championship caliber offense the last 2 years. The defense just does not have the talent yet. If we can get Robert Nkemdiche (number 1 defensive dude) next year who has committed orally, that could open up a wave of defensive talent coming to Clemson that wants to start right away. |

Clemson ran a ton of misdirection and trick plays to get those 40 points. They did it because they knew they could not line up and play our defense traditionally. I doubt any other team in america can put together the offensive creativity that clemson did last week against us.
Because of that I am sold on our defense. I think we have a top 3 defense in america to be quite honest. I really do not see any holes. Even Clemsons OC said the entire we game we played press man cover 2 and physically beat their WRs at the line of scrimmage. Yes we gave up some big plays, but Clemson seriously called some incredible misdirection and tricks to get those plays. The tell tale games for me are UM Va Tech and UF since they dont have the coaching styles to call those plays.Rivalry games being played straight up are always a great way to display physical dominance.

^^^Remember the one-game-at-a-time Jimbo Kool-Aid...tomorrow night is our first road game, albeit a short journey from the Doak and a chance for all the Bay Area kids to play in front of friends and family. Let's get them through this one and next week in Raleigh (not our fave destination in the past) healthy and unbeaten. Maybe the 'Canes will soften up the Wolfpack tomorrow and make the second trip a little easier. The key is to stay injury-free...no more Jenkins' style season-enders to the studs.

I'm really liking the Pac 12 this year. Always a fun conference to me, but it seems even more competitive this year. Hoping Oregon can come on top of the conference at season's end.

FSU jumps over LSU to #3 after the Tigers limped past Towson (?? didn't know they played football...basketball is their strength). Interesting that none of the top 5 dominated from the opening kickoff...WSU played Oregon tough for a half, FSU was on their heels early defensively before smothering USF, the aforementioned LSU "squeaker" and Georgia gave up 44 to Tennessee. I'm sure the Tide didn't cover either.

FSU's line looked more human last week. But USF does have some nice dlineman.
That being said, it really is one game at a time. Nc state upset us in '98 and somehow we still made the title game. Won't happen this year. that is a tough home crowd there with a team that has beaten us. I do credit a lot of that to amato knowing exactly how to defend us back then, and having more talent as well.

Tremendous bouceback this week by Iowa as they teach the Gophers who's boss (and reclaim Floyd the pig).
