Default If Roger had stayed with 2HBH How many more slams?

If Rogi had developed his 2 hander I think he would have amassed well over 20 slams.

His form and technique is solid.

He definitely would have been able to defend much better against Rafa's big forehands on clay. He could still hit piercing one handed slices and droppers as well. Dual weaponry.

25 slams, GOAT status secured. Well above Connors/Borg/Lendl/Delpo.

I know this is a joke thread, but Federer could not hit a two handed backhand when he was younger. That's why it's sometimes best to let youngster develop their own style rather than forcing one on them.

Probably around 21-22, so few more.

Probably made of one or two RG's, Wimbledon 08 and AO 09.

He would have 2-3 more slams due to defeating Nadal more often. Other than that, the backhand is not necessarily costing him victories.

I think he would have actually won less slams. Part of what makes Roger so deadly is his flexibility and trick shots when put in a difficult situation, for example, when he employs his wrist flick single handed backhand passing shot while forced deep in the corner, and opponent being at the net.

Secondly the transition between one handed slice and one handed top spin backhand becomes much more fluid with a 1HBH, and it comes very natural to Federer. The 1HBH perfectly suits his game.

On the picture it almost look like he will hit a sliced 2 hand forehand like Santoro.

I'd say if Federer had a 2HBH he'd have about 17 fewer Slams.

none. how can a magician operate with his hands tied up. Federer has one of the most dynamic and versatile games of all time. Just like Pete, a one handed backhand allows then to attack with greater ease.

Roger has said his 2 hander is awful. So none

He'd have a great head to head with Nadal having beaten him in round 1 of many events, but he'd have no titles

Have you seen a magician wielding his/her magic wand two-handed?

I've seen Fed hitting some two-handed FOREHANDS recently in a video posted in another thread. Yes, it was in a warmup session and he was just messing around, but just think how many more slams he could have won...

Legs are stronger then arms, so imagine if Federer attached mini racquets to his feet. He does have the best footwork in teh biz.

Foozball Fed - 95% of the slams from 2002-2011.

We know you're kidding POAP. But still Rogi wouldn't be SMC with a 2HBH would he?

Ike Masters foresaw his future and felt that it was decided that one player should not dominate hence they made sure that he played with a 1bh. It is better for the tour.

I think Pete was the one who had a 2-hander when he was young, then switched to a 1-hander on the advice of his coach. Roger would likely not be able to hit a 2-hander to save his life

I saw Federer practicing and he was hitting some 2-handers. They were god-like, of course.

He hits the one hander so that his opponents don't feel like chumps.
