I switch so frequently it's awful for me and my game. I have a hard time deciding what I need, and it really comes down to my arm health. Plus that my game is still improving tangibly every few months it makes a bit tougher to gauge what I need.
That being said, I definitely don't recommend the path I've taken! My arm health takes priority over everything else, and now I've found a range of sticks that are okay with my arm it's even tough as I have to decide what characteristics I value second to that. -Fuji

I was with my HPS6.1s for 3 years, then another 3 years with my Volkl Tour 10 Mids (gen. 1) then went threw a period time I was switching every 2-3 months, then finally settled on the IG Prestige Pro & I don't see myself changing frames in a very long time. This racquet has everything I've been searching for.

Since i started taking an interest in what stick i use, i played with the k.six one team for about a year and played some good tennis with it. I then switched to the k tour 90, which probably wasn't the right stick for me at that time (i think i was only about 15) and used it for about 4 years. Although I think the k tour 90 forced me to develop good technique and its paying off now. I then started using the blx tour 90, which was a good choice as i improved a lot with it and i used it for about a year. Now i recently switched to the ps 6.0 85 (wilson prostaff 6.0 85) and its the first time i have picked up a stick and instantly played better with it than my previous stick. I had my doubts about this stick but there is something magical about the control it has. Somehow i found it harder to adjust from the k tour 90 to the blx tour 90.
In my opinion i have only switched sticks once from the 'team' because both of the tour 90s and the ps 6.0 85 are so similar. |

I developed the beginning signs of TE and a friend has a collection of these so I grabbed one of the latest paintjobs and have spent about 10 hours with it now. I'm playing pretty much the same tennis with it as I can with the PSLGT, but the Ki5 is much easier to use, especially for generating pace. Maybe I still have a bit more control with the PSLGT, but every hour more I spend with the Ki5 I see my control being dialed in. I never thought I would switch racquets, but as they say, never say never... At this point I am thinking that I will keep my PSLGTs until I am 100% certain but am already willing to sell my PSTs. I occasionally used them when I needed more pace with less effort, but it seems the Ki5 is giving me this plus more control and at least more psychological comfort that I am not doing further damage to my arm. All that being said, I am still a staunch believer in not switching racquets too often so that muscle memory builds up. In a crucial match situation, the last thing I would ever do is rely on a racquet I don't thoroughly know inside out. I like to forget about the racquet while playing and stay focused on strategy. Now that the season is ending I guess I can play around but come next March I want whatever racquet I have decided on to be an extension of my arm.

It sounds like the PK might be a better fit for you if it lets you play the same game without pain! Seriously, comfort is really the be all end all of frames. I find that frames in the mid 60's cause me worlds of arm pain, while frames at either low 70s or high 50s don't. My arm definitely doesn't like that in between feel. -Fuji

Twice I've had a need to switch racquets. Once when I was improving from beginner to more advanced player and moving out of the OS lightweight category. The other was when I developed wrist pain using a fairly heavy racquet and moved down to something more manageable. I'm quite happy now with my Radical MPs and my wrist pain is gone.

I came back to the game 4 years ago (after a 16 year college injury layoff) and started playing very seriously 2 years ago. I had to completely remake my game and changed my forehand grip. In that process I went from a PDR to a Prince Black LB to a head IGPMP, The prestige always asks me to play my best but its no where near as tough as my 1980's Max 200G. I'm committed to the head MP for another 3-5 years. I tune my rackets a lot and even matched sticks never play the same so the last thing I want to change is my go to stick... My favorite Prestige MP.
I'm more likely to mess with strings than switch my main frame... it messes with my serve and topspin backhand too much.

"AND TW won't ship Babolat to Canada. It blows my mind as I love the frame and no one here has even heard of it." Try ********* in Montreal they carry all kinds of Babolats, and you can also look up Sporting Life in Toronto. Hope this helps F |

In general, the racquet played by latest sensation in ATP circuit sells more. I am sure IG RAD PRO would have sold more after Andy Murray Won the US open. My regular hitting partner moved from APD to Speed after Novak became no1.

More often than not, once or twice during the match! Yeah, I drank the "You can buy your game off the rack" kool aid long ago and can't shake the effects. Usually buy a new stick at least once a year, keep most of them and switch back and forth. In my head, I KNOW my game doesn't change much with the change of racquets but in my heart I KNOW that holy grail is out there somewhere. Pray for me.
