Guys, is it just me needing new glasses or this is the slowest court in history of the USO. I'm not sure what they did with the Ash stadium but it's just seem to be bizarre. the ball bounce, players playing these crazy 25-30 shots (like today in the Djoko/Ferrer match, I was getting kinda bored to be honest with you)
I'm not sure what balls they are using this year and if that's something to do with my impression of speed. just strange. ![]() it seems to me that the only 2 fast HC courts left are Cinci and Dubai. |

I'm not sure, but I think Murray said that Ashe is slower than Armstrong this year.

It's fine to have very fast courts, would be nice to see them all the same at such a big tournament though. |

It was very evident during the delpo-djokovic match. Djokovic is an incredible defender, but even he shouldn't have been able to defend against delpo as well as he did, especially in the 2nd set. Delpo was hammering stuff left and right (and for him that's saying something) and djokovic got to EVERY ball and returned many with interest. It doesn't have to be really fast, but if delpo is on and struggles to hit winners, the court is just too slow.

Had Naduck known this, he might've returned to the tour sooner.

Lol, I thought AA was Andre Agassi.
Yeah, it does seem slower than usual, but maybe i'm just getting that impression because of the Djok Ferrer match. |

I was shocked at how high the ball was bouncing too. Both guys were hitting topspin that was just exploding off the court.
I feel like the US Open shouldn't be rewarding/encouraging 20+ shot rallies, playing 5 feet behind the baseline, and incessant retrieving. That seems to be what it is however, and it's a bummer. Australia and France are both incredibly slow courts, can't we keep some offense at the US Open? Tomorrow's match will probably be painful. I feel like if Rafa had been healthy and played this US Open, he would have dominated. |

As I said before, I interviewed an ATP spokesman earlier this year about court speed and it is official, this is what the authorities want because they believe this is what the fans want.

Rafa would've definitely made the SF or done better. Courts are disgusting.

I really don't know. We have a medium/slow Rod Laver. They should have kept Ash really fast, it's not like anybody is S/V nowadays (well, Llodra and Stepanek, lol). Watch Djokovic and Murray play for like 7 hours today
