Smith doesn't need to win any SuperBowls. He only needs not to lose one.
Running backs, special teams, big D, and short flare passes are supposed to get the 9'ers in. Time of possession and grinding down the defense. They're going to need BrandonJacobs and the flea before mid season. Either MarioM bounces back and actually holds onto a ball, or the Giants were right to let him go. |

Raiders fan here for those that don't know. So here goes:
We look terrible. The offense which looked dynamic at times last season looks pedestrian. DMC can't do anything under this zone blocking scheme. Losing to Miami wasn't totally unexpected, but still was a disappointment. I thought 8-8 would be doable, but now it seems we'll be 0-5 w/ Pitt, Den, and ATL on deck the next few weeks. FIRE GREG KNAPP. He was awful the first time he was here, and is still awful. That and we have no cornerbacks, none. |

I won't be surprised by a Panther victory tonight...the G-men are banged up and playing on the road for the first time on a short week. If they fall behind, Eli Houdini may not pull off another miracle. Panthers 27-21.

People forget how many calls the regular officials make.

People forget how many calls the regular officials miss also. No replacement refs have made as big a blunder as Ed Hochuli did in that SD-Denver game and what about the ref screwing up the coin toss in the Steelers-Lions game on Thanksgiving?

^That's actually what I meant to type. Forgot the word "bad" Sorry.
"People forget how many bad calls the regular officials make" So tired of every broadcaster and losing team complaining about the refs. They are not any worse than the regular guys from what I see.

Glad this one isn't included in my pool. Replacements stepped up and Carolina imploded...guess Week 2 explosion was courtesy of Saints porous defense. Big win for G-men as they get the extra time to get healthy for Week 4.

lol @ Cam doing his superman thing while being blown out and then completely blowing off Eli during the post game.
and props to Steve Smith for laying the smack down on Cam about sulking on the sidelines and not trying to learn what he was doing wrong.

It takes despairing losses to make a man, and every good QB has gone thru the ringer.
Before you can learn to win, you have to learn how to lose, and gain from it. |

Their real impact is in the flow of the games, imo. Games are longer and not as much fun to watch.

I am a huge Cowboys fan, and was only watching the Pats/Ravens game cause I had a lot of players in it. WOW. The Patriots often get the calls in most of their games, but not this one. The Refs extended two Raven drives multiple times with phantom defensive holding calls. Definitely got jobbed.
Though I hate that NFL refs are greedy buggers and shouldn't get paid nearly as much as they are asking for, something is going to have to be done about the horrendous calls if this game is any representation of what's going on throughout the league. I do agree however that with the NFL rules that the last FG was barely good |

Though I was hoping for some way for both teams to lose. I can't stand Ray Lewis, man should be in jail. Plax hilariously shoots himself in the leg and gets 2 years while Ray gets nothing.

Anyone watch the NFL's best front line and that defensive battle Sunday? Two TDs in 18 seconds?

DirtyBirds looking tough! If they gain home-field advantage in the NFC and can rid themselves of the one-and-done syndrome, they'll mosey down to Nawlins for the Big Game. I'd like that for Tony G., a great player and person!

Ok. I must admit this MNF game is one of the worst called games I've ever seen.
