I'm sure this would be good for surgeons and people who make their living in the podiatry profession...

There's a guy at my club that plays barefoot. He's a great player but I find it disgusting.

Maybe this works for a minority of people, but I played HC doubles in chucks one day on holiday and could barely walk from foot and ankle soreness for a week.

Bud Collins was known for playing barefoot on grass, in his heydays.

Chucks really aren't the same as going barefoot. Also, Chucks are so narrow that I can't get my feet into them unless they are about 2 sizes too big.

I try to live barefoot as much as possible and it has kept me from getting PF again. Though on the tennis courts I still wear tennis shoes. I'd burn the bottom off my feet trying to stop quickly on hard courts.

How protection do you really need? Just a thin sole to make sure your skin is protected?

I've seen guys playing barefoot on both crushed shell and dirt courts. Give me shoes & socks any day.
