^^^^^^
I thought I saw the specs of the 98 somewhere and the weight and balance are similar to the regular 98D

I have a V-Core 98D Xi that My son is demoing right now and the specs are 305 grams/10.8 oz. Material HM Graphite + Micro Core + X-Fullerene. Balance point 315 mm so everything looks identical to the 98D except the addition of Micro Core. Exact same headsize and shape. Paint job has metallic white and more red metallic. Looks nicer in my opinion.
My son currently uses a V-Core 95D so he is going to a lighter racquet that is more evenly balanced. He said his slice improved. Serves are about the same. Groundstrokes seems to have more topspin. Volleys are slightly better. Service returns maybe a little less stable but not by much. Seems like he really likes it. Sorry I can't compare to the current V-Core 98D. |

I got to have a demo hit with the new Vore Xi 98 and 100 a few weeks back at a tennis shop in Melbourne while I was on a business trip. It felt, to me, a bit more solid than the VCore and moreso than the Xi. Didn't feel as quick through the air as the VCore but had more of a solid response on groundstrokes. Volleys were solid, spin was heavy, comfort was good, power was more than sufficient and control was very good. My preference is for the 98sq but the 100 was still a very good frame; just not my favourite of the two. |
