It's such a great phone. The only thing bugging me is developers who haven't updated their apps for the larger screen.

So looking ahead to the iPhone 6 I'm sure we'll see 12mp camera and god knows what else.

It sucks for developers having to target 2 screen sizes now.

My wife and I spent the day together going to a number of places. We used the turn-by-turn feature on her phone, and it was spot on for every location we visited.

I'm not trying discount the problems many have noted, but for us, it has yet to fail or show any sign of any problems.

Were you typing in the names of places or did you input the address? Maybe Apple is further along in their Maps development in South Florida too.

Could well be, I can't imagine them being too accurate in my little town. It's not exactly the kind of place you'd want to risk being lost in either!

she would search the name of the places we were visiting. What was pretty amazing, is that we traveled a lot on I-595 from Ft. Lauderdale to the Davie area and then Sunrise, Plantation, and other areas.

Anyway, on I-595, there has been a lot of construnction going with lanes and bridges being added, etc. The app already had all these new lanes, roads, bridges, forks, etc accounted for. We were very shocked to see it was so up to date, especially with all the complaints that people have been having since the release of the phone.

Maps is going to be fixed and will become a success for Apple in time. Everyone is focusing on maps, which should tell most people how strong the phone is.

They actually have security guarding the FedEx guys delivering these phones to people's homes..lol. Amazing demand for these things.

Alright, now I'm interested in opinions on my basic usage being I own neither an IOS or Android device.

Daily use: 60-90 min music from my microsd ( 64gb), 50-60 emails per day via exchange. 1-3 hours of web browsing and due to some site security in finance, may need access to full web vs mobile at times. Prefe,r a top notch camera being I don*t carry the wifes rebel 3 around. I have an older car stereo so have been reliant on the fm transmitter for over the stereo play. Other than the normal daily phone use, that's about it. Is one direction a better choice over the other?

No trolling, genuinely curious.

Sounds like you use it quite a bit, both phones will more than take care of what you need. Maybe the option to use a spare battery with an Android would be useful? You never have to worry about running out of juice that way, also you can use your 64gb sd card with Androids, to go along with the 16gb internal.

Just get an iPhone 5 battery case.

I used my Mophie for my 4s and got 9 hours of use.

The iPhone 5 battery cases should be epic being that the phone is so light. Can't wait for them to come out soon.

Also get the new Speck Burton Prince of Wales case. Sick. Sick. Sick.

i'd definitely say I'm a power user as I've always looked at it as a laptop replacement for work on the go.

I'm guessing the only way to thwart the lack of an fmtx in the latest and greatest is to find an external like monster cable. Camera's seem to have moved forward outside of Nokia hardware in the past three years so I wouldn't feel a loss there.

How are the stock browsers? Can you change user agents with ios or have access to opera in those needed cases?

I'm assuming the lack of a mid trip battery exchange would be the biggest hurdle to iphone...no microsd on iphone? That'd be a bummer too. Can't stream well when globetrotting or off to the BWCA.

I may just wait til the next gen to see if there's a need to move forward. Seems like it'd just be a little faster version of doing what I do...but I really want an excuse for a new toy dangit!

You realize that Apple used Corning Gorilla Glass II for the iPhone 5's screen, right?

Same for me, love Macs, couldn't go back to Windows now. Phone's are different though, I gave up with the iPhone and went for Android.
