gut/kevlar hybrid

Has anybody tried this? If so, what was the tension difference between mains (gut) and crosses (kevlar)? I have some Ashaway 17 ga. on hand. looking to dampen the gut a little. I am planning on putting it in a Gamma 330X .

While I haven't tried it, I don't think Kevlar would dampen it "just a little."
