Default Thoughts on poly cross strings?

What's the general consensus as to which poly string provides the most spin in a cross position relative to VS Team 17, Pacific Prime 17, WhisperTOUCH 17L or Wilson NG 17 mains?

Tour Bite 18
BHBR 17
SPPP 17L
SPPP Pure 17L
L-Tec 4S (The hated string)

or is there something I'm missing. Also, what is the difference between SPPP and SPPP Pure? I imagine both Signum offerings are great at maintaining tension.

I imagine the Gut / SPPP offerings are played a lot because they hold up over time?

And the slick surface helps the gut mains slide which is one of the factors in spin production. People on this board seem to love MSV Co focus as a cross, and coincidently it received one of the lowest friction ratings by TW Proffessor. I personally liked SPPP more simply because I felt it tamed the gut mains better than the co focus. It's all personal preference. I always suggest people try out SPPP as a cross because it does everything well and holds tension incredibly well for a poly.

Sorry, nope. It would saw through the mains too fast for me.

Not unless you break strings very quickly. You can also put one or two in as the string begins to fray. Just put them where the gut begins to unravel.

Compared to gut in terms of hours of playability, how much would a poly cross like SPPP or Co-Focus give you?

Cool

SP Tornado is my choice...16g nattie & 1.23 Tornado or 17g nattie & 1.18 Tornado if durability is not an issue.

Just curious, why do you think L-tec 4S is a hated string?

Are you asking about full gut versus gut/poly hours of playability or the two polys compared side to side as crosses for gut mains?

sorry I should've been clearer.

Full gut
vs
gut / poly (sppp, let's say as it's a tension maintenance monster or msv cofocus)
vs
poly (scorpion) / gut

in terms of hours of playability.

I've used pacific classic crossed with SPPP 1.18 and noticeably felt the poly dying off at approx 25 hours of hitting.

Just posting this for some more information for the people interested.

Full gut plays well until it breaks. Gut/poly begins to die and lose some of that initial feel and pop after about 10 hours of playing time (haven't gotten that in a while, though.)

Poly/gut plays well for a while. At around 10-12 hours it too begins to lose that playability but it, like gut/poly, will still play well for another 10-12 hours after that. The times I've hit with people that have reached that much time it just felt like it had nothing it did when fresh.
