Yeah it is. I've played the first two.. still hoping for an Xbox release along those lines. Pretty sure the new Devil May Cry game is going to be PS3 only as well.

Maybe I should just buy one haha.

It was said already, but batman arkham city is what you're talking about. It's like grand theft auto, you can run around and do whatever you want. You can even do a mini game where waves of enemies come at you and you beat them up. It's really fun.

But there's only so much fun you can have with that, and I don't want to get into actual fights. And sparring prevents me from hitting with full power (don't want to hurt anyone by accident obviously)
Hmm.You dont want to get into one on ones.. that would probably be a good thing to try . Seems it is you that doesnt want to grow up or get hurt .

Why do you need to beatup someone in the digital world?

No, I'm a good fighter. I've just done damage to sparring partners in the past, and just dont like feeling bad about it. Video games are a nice outlet for enjoying stuff like that without putting anyone in danger, including myself. Not sure what is considered immature or 'not grown up' about not wanting to get into physical fights with people for no reason, even if it's just sparring. I've done that most of my life.

Are you advocating that I get into fights and sparring matches? I suppose I could look for better, more muscular sparring partners.

Stay within your own league i.e. weight and size. Otherwise you are not a fighter but a flighter.

I don't play games, since I like to live life as efficiently as possible, but I've heard Topspin 4, Nadal vs Federer is a good combination.

If you're looking for a game where you can be an unstoppable demi-god monster besides God of War, then I think something like Skyrim would fit the bill. As you level up, you can learn some unbelievably destructive spells and dragon shouts. There is a seriously unique satisfaction with using the unrelenting force (fus ro dah) dragon shout on giants 7x bigger than you and watching them fly 20 ft in the air. If you have it for PC, mods add an almost endless amount of deadly new spells and dragon shouts.

JBF#1 already mentioned GTA, which are good choices for fun unadulterated chaos and destruction.

Then why post in this thread?

I'm seriously curious; what's the point of poo-pooing games in a thread devoted to gaming?

OP: I'm addicted to Virtua Tennis on my Razr. For fighting games, I still play Soul Caliber on my Dreamcast. (Yes, I'm pretty sure I'm the last American who owns a Dreamcast.) I have GTA Vice City on my laptop, always a lot of fun. And I miss Double Dragon.

You're right. It is extremely gratifying beating Very Hard Nadal at Roland Garros in straight sets without breaking a sweat.

OK, but you could say the same thing about chatting on a message board instead of talking to people in person.

The posters drawn to this particular message board certainly aren't missing out on real life; everyone attracted to this place also enjoys playing outside, in a sport that requires interpersonal interaction. Some of us also happen to like playing video games sometimes. Food for thought.
