Default does the gamma 330x suck

I don't know what it is but I can not customize this frame to be good for anything other that a locked wrist forehand. For serve, volleys, and slice you might as well kill yourself.

Cramming lead at 12 makes it virtually useless on slice, trying for top a low FH, and serve where you are jumping. Standing serve and high FH are crushed, though.
Cramming lead at 3 and 9 raises twistweight and actually makes a pretty solid stuck if your have a locked wrist FH or a 2hbh which I have neither of. Say goodbye to spin serves if you have a jumping serve.
Cramming lead at the throat makes an good stick for backhand slice, flat serves, and pretty adequate on everything else except volleys.
Cramming lead at the buttcap says goodbye to hitting flat groundies.

The biggest problems with this stick are that no matter how you customize it, this thing weighs more than a Dunlop max 200g original or any other frame I play with on the backswing which is just crazy because it is the lighest frame I use. The other problem is after the swing is over, it is as if the racquet refuses to STOP swingwing. It is as if you need to counterswing after your actual swing to get the racquet to stop moving and fall down. All other racquets usually don't carry your whole arm and its own mass forward AFTER the contact with the ball, the frames usually drops after your arm stops applying force. I think this is what posters call plowthrough (is this a measurable unit?) but this is an absolute terrible trait.

I play with the dunlop max original 200g, Prince ignite 95, and the tecnifibre tFight 325 vo2 max. Really heavy sticks for a recreational player but switching between them usually requires a slight change in the swing but the backswing and followthrough don't change much. I have never used a stick that sacrificed so much just to have more plowthrough it is disgusting. I have never felt a need to set up super early for every shot as I did with this stick nor had issues repositioning myself after a stroke nor felt like the racquet was "PULLING" me into the court after a swing.

I've tried everything to make this stick work in terms of weight and strings but this is just stupid. I think I have to admit I wasted 200 bucks on a frame of such shitty design. I could always make any racquet suit me but no, not this time.

Does anyone else here agree with the characteristics of this frame?

I had so much fun tinkling with my other 3 racquets that this nightmare has essentially struck so much anxiety deep into my heart that I don't think i will buy racquets again.....

Why don't they only make clones of the Dunlop max 200g. I hate it when my allergies to stupidity acts up like this.

Hi d-quik,

Sorry, I just couldn't pass that one up. I have a dry sense of humor, and just got a little giggle out of your typo. Funny how one little letter can change the meaning of a whole sentence, or at least it was funny to me. My apologies if I offended you. Good luck with finding a solution to you customization issues!

I like that you have given it its chances with various lead tape setups rather than writing it off completely.

Maybe it does just suck for you though!

Yeah, your going to be at least relieved that I am not going to rip on you and tell you that indeed you are right! That racket sucks.. for customization. Its too heavy, too stiff, and too head light to do anything with it than play with it in stock form. My buddy has a prestige pro that has just about identical specs and he is stuck too.

What you need is my racket, the microgel radical mp.. Buy one, put about 1/2 oz lead on top from either 10 to 2 or 11 to 1(doesn't matter), and you have yourself a PRO WEAPON!.. As the initial specs are nearly even at 2 points head light, it perfect for customization. It basically is the closest thing u can get to a "pro stock" frame at only 10.6 ounces unstrung and 11 strung(*oh yeah, new racket weight?.. only 11.7 ounces now!).

I have already saved you time, tested it with same strings polarized and depolarized. Depolarized, good, solid, consistent. Polarized, AMAZING! Bomb serves, insane topspin, power volleys(all i need to do is re time or rework my backhand to reflect the insane power/spin this racket has and i am SET!).

So, learn from your mistake, sell those normal rackets to some sucker, and start having fun! Oh, one last thing, i have not put counter weight to this magical combination, because it is too sweet to mess with now! I did put 1/4 ounce fishing lure once in handle once before, and didn't like it because it didn't allow me to be as wristy with my shots and thus pronate through the ball as easily. So, for now(and probably ever) I am going to ignore that step and just have fun with a stick that is just plain awesome!

Oh, finally, just yesterday, i seen a guy hitting with my same stick, stock, with even the original junk strings they put in it. I hit with it, and it was like a toy compared to what I built! Djokovic uses this same mold but has a 12.6 depolarized lead setup. That is why i tried depolarized setup first. But, for me, and surely the way my strokes are too, polarized is the way to go!

Disagree... the 330X plays great in stock form, no need to "tinker" with it except maybe a small amount of lead at 12:00 to improve plow-through. The only problem I see with it is that it is a little stiff for me ... if the flex were around 60 it could be a perfect racquet for me.

Proof that there are different strokes for different folks.
