I like the new case that comes with it. Might have trouble fitting it in my closet though ...

That is in the PSTGT realm and shouldn't be an issue for those that use natural gut mains/poly crosses.

Guys I just got a new speed and the beam creep is a real thing! it's on the verge of being too thick for me. Also, The new MP still seems longer than 27" when compared with another racket of mine that is 27", but it is shorter than 27.2"

I just hit with the new MP last night and found it to be quite different to the previous generation. Its got more pop and more spin. I would say this is a true players tweener. It plays more comfy than the Specs suggest but yeah the beam is wider.

I don't understand the bashing of the new Speeds. IMHO now Heads offer is more versatile.

The old Speed line was to similar to the old Radical lineup.
Low flex, 20mm beam, similar weight and balance depending on model.

Still I think Head should go down with the beam of the current Radicals.
So the Radical are again low powered, flexy, control oriented racquets.

Now the new G Speeds are a good transition for those who played with Extremes or even Instincts and are looking for more control without sacrificing all of the power (the latter is especially true for Extreme users).

The new G Speed MP is what they should try. Very spin friendly with loads of power.

If Head would downsize the beam of the current Radicals they would have:
- a true control oriented lightweight players frame - Radical MP
- a lightweight tweener with emphasis on control - Speed MP
- a power oriented tweener - Extreme MP

Still I don't get why so many weight/balance versions. S, PWR, Rev... why?

Why? So Djoko's marketing of the speed reaches across all market segments.

I think the idea is that you identify with the pro and then select the style of racquet fit for you within that sub-brand.

So you need an easy Prestige so fans can play with a racquet like Simon's et al. So Prestige is no longer an exclusively player's marque.

I think you're right Bartelby. It makes sense.
Though the racquet volume that comes with such a strategy is humongous.

Next thing you know, Novak's racquet is still just another paintjob...

They should set world the record of the serve speed instead, or at least let Djokovic serve 10 mph faster on average at AO. This would be much stronger evidence of new "speed" technology.

Is it right that there is no replacement for the IG Speed Pro - the 98 square inch headed racket that was heavy and not sold in the US? That was a superb racket and I was hoping to see an upgrade.

The Head 2013 catalogue is available and there is nothing like the IG Speed Pro in it.

The new Pro is the old MP 18x20.

I am still waiting for a 16x19 Radical MP. I never understood the specs of the Rad Pro. 335 sw and head heavy.

The thing is a 16/19 Radical MP would destroy the history of the marque, whereas a Blade has no history to lose.

Having said that, the next radical pro could quite easily come with less sw and it is hl and for more hl just add blutak.

Please HEAD, stop the beam creep already!! Is there any structural necessity for all these increased beam widths? 21-24mm beams just seems so passe and predictable of most brands nowadays.

HEAD should return to beam widths under 20mm for 2014, if only to give us a laugh as to what further mindblowing technology supposedly enables it to squeeze so much tech into the apparently tight engineering confines of a 19mm box beam...I'm predicting "KomPresTek"

Tried the Speed again, still hopeless for me from the baseline yet weirdly still a serve and volleyer's delight. Going to keep using it for that purpose...

Is it based on the YT or the MG version? I really liked the MG version-much more so than the heavier SW of the later ones.
