Default Federer not playing Shanghai?

I don't see his name in the draw! The top 2 seeds are Djokovic and Ferrer.
I think it's okay because he needs some more rest as he's getting old.

I would be more ****ed if Murray didn't play Shanghai than Federer.

Federer needs his vacations.

Federer should play Shanghai and skip Paris.

Do we have some ... reasons here? Or just a declaration?

I think Federer should go all out in Shanghai and then Basel/Paris/WTF, he'll get more than enough rest once the WTF is done, like 2 months or so.

This is his last chance to make a dent in the Sampras record cabinet, that is 6 years ended at no 1.

Federer might feel bad about the idea of skipping the tournament 2 years in a row...especially since it seems to be struggling.

Roger Federer on FB just a moment ago:

"Looking forward to going back to China and playing in the Shanghai Rolex Masters. I have always enjoyed China and I can't wait to see my great chinese fans again. See you soon!"

Case closed. He's playing.
