Perhaps it is time to try it on Vcore89.

How is QC on Vcore89? Should i spend the extra $ to ask for matching service?

Yup, still using it. I'm actually at 34 lb. and really can't see myself changing a thing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for the 89 Tour, especially since you have already used it in another frame.

QC is beyond good. I've never had a Yonex frame that didn't match its published specs. Every single one has been spot on.

Wow, can't believe this thread was on page 8 already. This frame is probably the best 90-ish sq. in. frame available and there just is no love for it at all.

The most amazing thing about this frame is that you can do just about ANYTHING you want with it. It's not the easiest frame to use, but it certainly can do it all. Power, touch, control, spin, feel, whatever. Every time I play, I'm continually amazed at how I have the freedom to do whatever I want. I never, EVER, feel like the racquet is holding me back from making my shots, which is the first time I've felt like that in a long time.

I think most people out there are looking for a frame that makes their game better. This frame will not do that. Instead, it ALLOWS you to play however you want. Any shot you want to hit, you can do it with this frame. But it will not hit "easy spin" or "easy power" for you. What you put into the racquet, you get out of it. That's all that I expect.

Probably right. I think there are two major problems: #1) it's a Yonex and #2) it's a midsized frame.

But it doesn't change the fact that it's a glorious frame.

I'm buying one of these beauties in April, it's not my type of a racquet but when I pass by the Yonex aisle and I see that racquet, I really want it, at least for the heck of having it I will get one.

I've noticed a few of my friends are switching to Yonex racquets. They don't know why but the isometric shape of the racquets seems to attract them.

I've demoed the 98D before and it was a very fun racquet. It had good pop and spin. I just felt like it was a bit light. It did feel good at net since it was lighter than the 89t. One problem for me was that it didn't feel that stable when hitting my forehand for some reason.

From what I can recall, I was able to hit through the ball pretty well with a two handed backhand. Serves were good too, good amount of spin and control when I tried it out.

Hope this helped!

yes . sometimes i feel the vcore 98 it's easy. for a strange reason after the first set i feel the need for a more heavy racquet.

Does anyone have a photo of the Vcore 89 and RDS001 mid on top of each other?

Failing that, has anyone played with both of these racquets recently and if so, how do they compare?

Cool

Since the Tour89 has a small head and 20 crosses, I was thinking this may be an excellent racquet to try emulating the Steam movement.

Has anybody tried to string it by skipping some crosses?

Sorry for the late reply.

Message me and we can discuss it! I have no idea on what post would cost, but shoot me an email.

i would like to know if anyone experiment with lead ?

i added 4 grams of lead at 12 , i did like it for a while especially on serve, but later i found that it added more swingweight to the racket which really affected my one handed back hand, i was getting late on many shots and couldnt control passing shots.

found it much better as it is, but still i feel that it needs more weight somwhere.

any one leaded at 3 & 9 ? how does it play ?

I actually tried it out with lead at 12 (I think 4 grams) and it felt a little too sluggish for me. I then moved the lead to 3 and 9 (2 grams each side) and it felt a lot better. Lots of more plow through.

However, I've grown to love it in stock form and I haven't tried to mess with lead ever since. Maybe you can add lead to the balance point and go from there?

Does anyone know if Yonex are planning to release an updated Vcore 89 model? I don't want to buy 3 of these only to find them at half the price in 2 months.

i bought a vcore 89 as a fun racket, stung with polystar energy @50 lbs.
today i play with it for the first time. I don't have the words to describe.... everything is great . very good spin , good peace , sensation control with a sweet spot larger that a blx90 or a head prestige mp, good power. actually i can win matches with the 89. i expected a very demanding racquet but is not.

i think i will lead up the Vcore 98D and Vcore Xi98.
