"Esto ya va a gusto particular. A mí, personalmente, ver jugar un Sampras-Ivanisevic aquí o este tipo de jugadores, pues... Yo, desde casa apreciaba lo que estaban haciendo, pero no disfrutaba, porque, al final, no ves juego".
"This is a matter of personal taste. For me, personally, to watch a Sampras - Ivanisevic or that kind of players, well... I from home appreciated what they were doing, but didn't enjoy it, because, at the end, you see no play". http://www.marca.com/2011/06/22/teni...308776146.html Just setting the record straight, seeing in another thread how widespread a certain mistranslation of that quote is...

Nadal was playing similar to this against Rosol. Big serving and first strike tennis. Not many long rallies.

Nadal should stop shooting his mouth off and just thank baby Jesus everyday that he wasn't around during the fast era of the 90s.

Obviously he didn't like how the past greats played well into their 30's, poor Kneedal.

Yeah, blah, blah, blah. Just accept Rafa didn't say serve and volley wasn't real tennis, like many people like to claim he did. That's the only point I was making. I do not care to get into childish arguments with you guys

and even if he did, he's entitled to do so. I don't get the whining about Nadal saying this or that, when many folks here are perfectly happy to slam and disparage Nadal's style of play.

Lol, just what I was thinking. People will continue to criticize, with or without a quote to base it on.

Sampras-Goran had tons of great rallies and precision, hard striking tennis. Not every match was just some 1 shot ace fest. ROFL

Although the part "you see no play" is a bit puzzling. By that, he prefers the 50-stroke rallies? I think a somewhat medium between the 2-shot and 50-shot rallies is good for everybody, in particular the viewers. unfortunately the trend nowadays veers more toward the latter. |

I don't see why *******s like to stick to the false translation when the correct ones are given, which is a simple statement about his preference.

He surely meant you hardly see much exchange between the players. I couldn't agree more with what he says there really. Watching Karlovic or Raonic play (their service games anyway) I find awfully boring. Pretty much fall asleep.
