Mcenroe does say some stupid stuff, especially these days. However, you have to give the guy credit for some of his impressive predications. Mcenroe started the comparisons with Sampras right after Federer won his first slam. Looking back, it was pretty impressive.

Also, Mcenroe said earlier this year that the top 4 should not underestimate Isner. Within the next month, Isner beat Federer and Djokovic. I bet his ego swelled up after that.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too. Those are all pretty high quality players. I'm surprised that DY has drawn so many decent players in a row with his schedule.

Yes and no. I mean, he should've beaten Russell today, he won the first set 6-1. And Jamie Baker, ranked outside the world's top 200. DY was inside the top 50 for most of this streak, he should've had three or four wins here at least.

still from the looks of it he hasnt exactly been lucky drawing his first round matches the way he did.

putting it all aside tho ever since he won a few rounds at the USO hes been spectacularly off-color. i mean i dont follow him but whenever ive seen something from him since hes been ludicrously bad. its obviously a mental thing and he doesnt seem to be any close to overcoming it atm

It's some mental, but the biggest problem he has is that he gets too egotistical.

Cruises in one set, whether it's the first or second. Just attacks with a fervor. He wins it, gets pumped up, and then inexplicably goes into "oh please don't lose" push mode and...loses. Loses badly too. The rare times he doesn't do that, he misses a big point, double faults a break point, and completely falls apart.

Plus his weak assed second serves, and his short balls, shows that he doesn't spend time on the court.

Rosol hasn't had the greatest of years, despite the once in a lifetime win at Wimby. He's lost some points, and since hitting 65, it's been downhill.

DY's is simply his summer run when he was playing out of this world with an actual coach and structure, not ridiculous parents, a lazy work ethic, and 16 year old hitting partners.

Oh I remember, funny thing is at the time Courier said there will never be another Sampras but as years went by and Fed started dominating Jim become one of the former pros who praised Fed the most.

But Federer, the way he plays, he's back, he comes in. When you look him, you think tennis is very easy sport, but it's not.
