Correct. In fact, TWO women have been ranked No. 1 for 300+ weeks: Steffi Graf (377 weeks, the record for both male and female) and Martina Navratilova (332 weeks)

What would everts true number of weeks at number 1 be if the wta had started counting earlier than late 1975? She surely was the number 1 for 1974

Because the race doesn't just count 1000 tournaments.

How many Slam finals did Djokovic contest in 2012? There's your answer. It's going to be a tall order for Roger to defend (his points) for the rest of the year.

I just read this in an article on ATP site:

"Federer can guarantee his place atop the South African Airways ATP Rankings by minimally reaching the Shanghai quarter-finals. Anything less, and Djokovic would overtake the Swiss by winning the Shanghai crown."

he can stay #1 after Shangai, but the problem is if Djokovic reaches better than QF the gap between him and Rog will be even wider in the race and the race is going to match actual rankings in less then few months.

Yes, each tournament in which djokovic goes deep from now on is gonna be a problem for federer.

Lets suppose djokovic losses in shanghai semi to either tsonga, berdych or raonic and federer wins the title, race would be: Djoko - 10770, Fed - 9920, then if roger wins basel: Fed - 10420, so the gap between them would be of 350 pts, and the clue will be if federer skips paris or not.

Tsonga lost last 6 matches vs Djokovic, Berdych never beat him on HC and Raonic

Murray is gonna play Basel i think so it's not going to be easy for Fed...

well, if Fed skips Paris that's 1000 points gone. I doubt it. If he somehow decides to skip Basel that's 500 points gone as he needs to defend both titles. He'll be doomed one way or another, and I highly doubt that Rog will win 15 matches in 3 weeks.

federer strategy of regaining no. 1 slot, he looses early in some Grand Slams, then he tries to win these grand slam next year so that he can regain no. 1 ranking

That really doesn't work. It seems to be a common misconception.

Game. Tennis scoring is a continuum. I interpret that calling "game" after 40-0 means both that the score the server has reached is game (not game-0) and also that the threshold has been reached to put a point on the next resolution of scoring, the set score.
