If Murray can win tomorrow, I think there's a real chance he could get #1 next year. He looks confident and the swagger from '09 is back, but with results now to back it up.

It's possible, but only without Nadal. It seems that the rise of Murray happens whenever Nadal's ranking drops. (Early 2010, while Nadal dropped to #4, Murray rose to #2 behind federer, where Nadal would then become the first male player to win slams on clay, grass and hard-court all in a calendar year.)
